2 грудня учні гуртка «Карусель напрямів» Дитячо-юнацького наукового університету НУ «Запорізька політехніка» завершили навчання з кібербезпеки від Кардіффського університету (Уельс, Велика Британія).

Темою заняття була «Криптографія». Діти вирушили в захопливу подорож у світ криптографії та кібератак, занурившись в інтерактивну гру «Детективи кібербезпеки — перегони з часом!».

Разом з Іриною Берник, аспіранткою з кібербезпеки факультету комп'ютерних наук та інформатики Кардіффського університету, школярі досліджували як кіберзлочинці використовують різні методи для отримання несанкціонованого доступу до чужої електронної пошти. Наша команда детективів із кібербезпеки розкрила приховані підказки, розшифрувала зашифровані повідомлення та навчилась захищати конфіденційну інформацію.

Вдячні Ірині Берник за підготовку та проведення циклу занять з кібербезпеки для запорізьких школярів, професору Омеру Рана, декану Міжнародного коледжу фізичних наук та інженерії, Мішель Сміт та Менні Морган, команді міжнародного відділу Кардіфського університету за підтримку ініціативи та створення сприятливих умов для розширення міжнародної співпраці НУ «Запорізька політехніка» та Кардіфського університету.

Віримо, що це лише початок довгої та плідної співпраці між нашими університетами!

Cybersecurity detectives — a race against time

On December 2, 2023, our young students of the "Carousel of Directions" at the Children and Youth Scientific National University “Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic” completed their Cybersecurity course from Cardiff University (Wales, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland).

The topic of the class was "Cryptography". Our researchers embarked on an exciting journey into the world of cryptography and cyberattacks, immersing themselves in the interactive game "Cybersecurity detectives — a race against time!".

Together with Iryna Bernyk, PhD student in Cybersecurity, School of Computer Science and Informatics, Cardiff University, young students investigated how cybercriminals use different methods to gain unauthorized access to someone else's e-mail. Our team of cybersecurity detectives uncovered hidden clues, deciphered encrypted messages, and learned how to protect sensitive information.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Iryna Bernyk for preparing and conducting Cybersecurity course for Zaporizhzhia schoolchildren, to Professor Omer Rana, Dean of the International College of Physical Sciences and Engineering, Michelle Smith and Menna Morgan, to the team of the International Department at Cardiff University for supporting the initiative and creating favourable conditions for the expansion of international cooperation between Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic and Cardiff University.
