Improving qualifications: NCP “Research Infrastructures” at the All-Ukrainian coordination event

In March, an information dissemination event “Coordination of NCP activities within the framework of new Horizon Europe RP competitions under the 2026–2027 work programs” was held in Kyiv. The leading specialist of the National Research Infrastructures National Contact Points (NRCP) Myroslava Shchetinina took part in this important event, the main target audience of which was the National Contact Points of the Program.

The event was opened with welcoming remarks by Olga Polotska, Executive Director of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, Yegor Pyvovarov, expert on policy issues in the field of science and innovation of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, and Iryna Bilous, state expert of the expert group on strategy and integration into the European Research Area of ​​the Directorate for the Development of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

In the theoretical part, specialists from the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine presented statistical information on the participation of Ukrainian organizations in the program competitions and the work of the Office. Participants also received up-to-date information on key innovations in the 2026–2027 work programs and opportunities for Ukrainian applicants.

The practical part was devoted to working with a real example of forming a project proposal. Participants were divided into three groups to work on the tasks prepared by the Office’s specialists. Particular attention was paid to the topical issue of using artificial intelligence tools during the preparation of project proposals – a topic that is actively discussed by European Commission experts.

At the end of the event, participants took part in an interactive educational game to consolidate the key concepts of the Horizon Europe program – experience gained by the Office’s specialists during a study visit to Estonian colleagues.

Participation in such coordination events is an important component of the work of the Research Infrastructures National Competitiveness Center, as it contributes to improving the quality of advisory support for Ukrainian researchers and innovators. Strengthening the coordination of the network of national contact points ensures more effective communication about the opportunities of the Horizon Europe program and supports the further integration of the Ukrainian scientific and innovative community into the European Research Area.
