Art therapy drawing event “Pictures of Affirmations”
On May 28, an art therapy event on the creation of “Affirmation Paintings” was held by the Center for Helping Survivors of Zaporizhzhia, co-organized by the Department of Psychology. Speakers of the event:– Viktoriya Verteba — psychologist of the Center for Helping Survivors, graduate and stakeholder of the Department of Psychology of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University– Iryna Bakhirko — psychologist of the Center for Helping Survivors
The participants, using psychological practices and creativity, turned to their own resources, emotions, and internal supports. The main idea of the event was to create a personal affirmation phrase and its visual image in a picture — a symbol of support, inner strength, and a way to return to oneself in difficult moments of life. Special attention was paid not to the artistic result, but to the very process of creative self-expression, the possibility to slow down, be in touch with yourself and allow yourself to express yourself without evaluation.
The event became a space of support, creativity and emotional recovery, where everyone was able to find their own way of taking care of themselves through art and psychological practice. Master’s and Bachelor’s students in the specialty “Psychology” also participated.
We thank the Center for Assistance to the Rescued of Zaporizhzhia for the opportunity to join the psycho-emotional support of the residents of our front-line city! Thank you all for your active participation!
