Department of «Criminal, Civil and International Law»
The department prepares bachelors and masters in the specialties D8 «Law», educational program «Legal Science» and K9 «Law enforcement activity», educational program «Law enforcement activity», as well as doctors of philosophy and doctors of science. The department was founded in 2014.

The department prepares bachelors and masters in the specialties D8 «Law», educational program «Legal Science» and K9 «Law enforcement activity», educational program «Law enforcement activity», as well as doctors of philosophy and doctors of science. The department was founded in 2014.
Department «Political science and general legal disciplines»
The department prepares bachelors, masters and doctors of philosophy in the specialty C2 «Political science», educational program «Political science». The department was founded in 2016.
Educational and scientific laboratory of advocacy
The laboratory in the structure of the Faculty of Law was established by the decision of the Academic Council of the University on August 28, 2025 with the aim of deepening cooperation with the Zaporizhzhya Oblast Bar Council, improving the training of highly qualified lawyers, developing scientific research, and strengthening the practical component of the educational process.

History of the Faculty of Law
For the development of civil society in Ukraine, it is important to form a new, higher level of legal awareness and legal culture of the population. In view of this, legal education and legal education are of great importance. Evolutionary development of society is impossible without deep knowledge of rights and freedoms, current legislation and political processes. At the Zaporizhia National Technical University (now Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University) since 2007, the Department of Jurisprudence, which was part of the Faculty of Humanities and Law, has been training legal specialists. From 2007 to 2014, the Department of Law was headed by Assoc. Yurii Volodymyrovych Filey. In 2014, as a result of the reorganization of the Department of Jurisprudence, the Department of Criminal, Civil and International Law, as well as the Department of Constitutional, Administrative and Labor Law were created. On September 1, 2016, the Faculty of Law was established, headed by Assoc. Yurii Volodymyrovych Filey. Deputy dean – Assoc. Olena Ivanovna Nadienko. Methodist – Iryna Arnoldivna Kupina. The activity of the Faculty of Law is aimed at high-quality preparation and conducting of the educational process taking into account modern achievements of science and practice. The Faculty of Law implements the function of organizing and managing the training of higher education applicants at the bachelor’s and master’s levels of higher education, as well as at the educational and scientific level of the Doctor of Philosophy and the scientific level of the Doctor of Sciences. The main goal of the Faculty of Law is to provide the necessary conditions for obtaining bachelor’s and master’s degrees of higher education, high-quality training of highly qualified scientists based on the modern level of knowledge and scientific research, as well as training professionals who are able to work successfully in a competitive environment in Ukraine and abroad. The Faculty of Law has established traditions, which the scientific and pedagogical staff and talented students preserve and multiply. The democratization of all social relations created conditions and new forms of realization of one of the main constitutional human rights – the right to education. The main areas of activity are educational and methodical, research, educational and career guidance work. The faculty consists of three departments. Department of constitutional, administrative and labor law. Since 2014, it has been headed by Ruslana Mykolaivna Maksakova, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor. Department of Criminal, Civil and International Law. Since 2016, it has been headed by Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor Tetyana Yevgenivna Leonenko. Department of political science and general legal disciplines. Since 2024, it has been headed by Doctor of Law, Professor Yurii Viktorovych Kyrychenko. In recent years, the Faculty of Law of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University has been one of the best in terms of training highly qualified personnel in the Zaporizhia region. The faculty trains bachelors, masters, postgraduates and doctoral students in the specialty 081 «Law», bachelors and masters in the specialty 262 «Law enforcement», as well as bachelors, masters and postgraduates in the specialty 052 «Political science». The high level of training of graduates is ensured by a strong teaching staff of the faculty, which works fruitfully with students in a friendly atmosphere of commonwealth, mutual respect and understanding. The staff of the faculty skillfully combined the classical academic traditions of education and the latest trends of European integration of the educational process, the use of modern educational technologies. All employees of the faculty are constantly improving their qualifications, undergoing retraining at leading universities in Ukraine, Germany, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Slovenia and Poland. The introduction of scientific research into the educational process is one of the priority directions of the organization of scientific work of the Faculty of Law. The results of dissertation studies and research works are introduced into the educational process, where they are used to prepare new educational courses. In recent years, the teachers of the faculty have prepared and published numerous training manuals and lecture courses on all the disciplines provided. Significant attention at the faculty is paid to the formation of high-quality teaching staff. Practitioners are involved in the teaching of professionally oriented disciplines. Teachers and students of the faculty constantly participate in numerous regional, all-Ukrainian and international conferences, publish their scientific achievements in leading professional publications of Ukraine and the world. The faculty actively encourages and supports the scientific work of students. Great attention is also paid to educational and career guidance work with students and future applicants. Student self-government, which is actively functioning at the faculty, complements the educational process with creative ideas, group scientific research, volunteer work, leadership attempts, interesting trips and active participation in artistic activities. The teaching staff of the faculty sees the main tasks of modern education in the training of competent, culturally developed, highly qualified specialists with thorough knowledge, endowed with maturity of mind, independence of judgment and full of responsibility both to society and to their own conscience. Professors and associate professors of the Faculty of Law try to form in graduates a sense of national dignity, patriotism, decency, justice and an unceasing desire for new knowledge. It is this that determines the content and nature of the educational process, the direction of the student’s scientific work. At the Faculty of Law, students have the opportunity to acquire not only deep and systematic knowledge, but also, reinforcing it with practical training, to join real work in state bodies, local self-government bodies, and legal institutions. Student years are one of the brightest in a person’s life. Our main task is to create conditions under which students will never regret their choice of place of study. The Faculty of Law always supports the intellectual, creative, and athletic talents of students, promotes their development and mastery of professional skills for building a future career. The Faculty of Law continues to develop the best traditions of the teaching methodology of theoretical and applied aspects of scientific and methodological activities, clearly adhering to the modern educational requirements currently facing the higher school.
