A series of events for the anniversary of International Embroidery Day
This year marks 20 years since Ukrainians celebrated International Embroidery Day. At Zaporizhia Polytechnic University, it is one of the brightest holidays of the year: colors, embroidery, unity and love. Activities were held at the university, in which everyone took part!
On May 20, a master class on making embroidered key chains “Embroidered Prayer: Pocket Amulet” was held. Students and staff created mini-accessories with a deep sacred meaning. Each participant had the opportunity to embroider a miniature amulet key chain with their own hands, which from now on will always be with them – in their pocket or on their keys.
The master class was conducted by Iryna Soldatova, head of the “Exemplary Art Collective” group of the “Rose” decorative flower studio of the Shevchenkivskyi district center for children’s and youth creativity.
The event was organized on the initiative of the scientific library of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University, with the assistance of the student trade union and student government.
The festive morning of May 21 began with a festive march in the open air! All students and employees, dressed in traditional clothes, proudly demonstrated their love for Ukrainian culture. Vice-Rector Andriy Ivanchenko welcomed the participants. The event was conducted by students of the university’s national aerobics team – members of the Ukrainian national team, Masters of Sports of Ukraine of international class and Masters of Sports of Ukraine in aerobics, absolute champions of Ukraine, winners of open international competitions, prize-winners of European and World championships. The event was organized on the initiative of the student trade union and student government, with the support of the Department of Physical Education, Olympic and Non-Olympic Sports.
