Guest meeting with psychologist of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Ilya Borodovka
On May 13, the Department of Psychology organized a guest online meeting — a dialogue with the psychologist of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Ilya Borodovko.
The invited speaker Ilya Borodovko — psychologist, head of the psychological support department of the Center for Supporting the Activities of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Zaporizhia region, major of the civil defense service — talked about his path as a psychologist in the field, compared work in the State Emergency Service before the war and during the war, and shared his own experience of participating in rescue operations, in particular at the sites of Russian strikes.
The participants of the meeting received answers to numerous questions: about the specific actions of psychologists in emergency situations; about the features of psychological assistance to victims on the ground, about methods and forms of work.
The guest meeting took place as part of the study of the first-year psychology master’s students of the academic discipline “Psychological Assistance in Emergency Situations”.
About 40 participants took part, the vast majority of whom were students of the Psychology specialty of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University. The meeting was joined by psychology students of the Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi Kremenchuk National University together with the head of the Department of Psychology, Pedagogy and Philosophy Olga Lytvynova. The event was also supported by Serhiy Druzhynin, regional coordinator of the All-Ukrainian mental health program “How are you?”.
