"Green Gigawatt" club classes
On May 9, an exciting lesson of the “Carousel of Directions” group of the Children’s and Youth Scientific University was held, dedicated to modern sources of renewable energy “Green Gigawatt”.
What topics did the students cover?
– solar energy and its use in the modern world
– the operation of solar panels
– the concept of efficiency and its role in the energy industry
– wind turbines and their shortcomings
In the experimental part, the students:
– conducted an experiment and checked what happens to solar panels when they are covered by “clouds”
– investigated the operation of a wind turbine: measured the wind speed and voltage
– took part in an exciting quiz and tested their knowledge
