Presentation of the book "Fear and Courage. (Un)Fictional Stories"
On April 21, the presentation of the book “Fear and Courage. (Un)Fictional Stories” by public figure, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, journalist and writer Serhiy Shtepa took place in the youth hub “FREETIME”. This is the author’s debut publication, which brings together 15 deep and poignant stories about people whose lives changed dramatically after February 24, 2022.
Each story is a separate fate, full of the pain of loss, struggle, love and indomitability. The heroes of the book experienced events that forever changed their lives: the loss of loved ones, forced evacuation, the destruction of their home. Despite the tragedy, these stories are imbued with strength of spirit, dignity and faith. The book conveys vivid emotions and allows you to feel the inner world of Ukrainians during times of trials.
During the meeting, Serhiy Shtepa shared the story of the book’s creation, talked about working on the materials, and revealed details that remained outside the pages. The author emphasized that all the plots have a real basis, but some names and locations were changed for the safety of the characters.
A special part of the event was live communication with the audience. Participants asked questions not only about the book, but also about socially important topics. During the conversation, thoughts were expressed about the work of the parliament, the future of Ukraine, and the paths to peace.
At the end of the meeting, the rector of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University Viktor Greshta expressed sincere gratitude to the author for the support of the city and the university. In response, Serhiy Shtepa presented a copy of the book for the Polytechnic library.
This event was not only a presentation of the book, but also a sincere conversation about the power of the human spirit, memory, and gratitude to those who today defend Ukraine and give us the opportunity to live, create, and dream!
