Zaporizhia Polytechnic University participates in EAIE for the second time – an exhibition-conference on international higher education

For the second time, Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University has joined the largest exhibition-conference in Europe on the internationalization of higher education EAIE Conference & Exhibition. This year, on September 9–12, the exhibition will be hosted by Gothenburg, Sweden.

Our university is represented at the forum by Alina Kazurova, Head of the Center for Internationalization and International Cooperation.

EAIE–2025 brought together over 7,000 participants from 100 countries around the world. Hundreds of sessions, workshops and meetings will take place here over 4 days, and the exhibition area will feature hundreds of stands from leading universities and organizations. This year’s conference theme is “GO-create”, symbolizing new opportunities for joint projects and innovations.

During the grand opening, welcoming remarks were made by EAIE Executive Director Mervin Bakker and Association President Sara Lopez Selga, who specifically emphasized the presence of Ukraine with a joint Ukrainian Higher Education stand and mentioned the difficult times our country is going through, as well as the Mayor of Gothenburg Aslan Akbas, President of the Regional Council Renee Bengtsson, and County Governor Sten Tolgfors.

An important aspect for Zaporizhia Polytechnic was an interesting and fruitful meeting with representatives of Mid Sweden University (our new partner) – Cathrine Gladh and Maria Fredlund from the Department of International Relations. We discussed the prospects for cooperation in the areas of academic mobility, summer schools, double degree programs and scientific research.

The meeting with our long-time partners – representatives of University College Thomas More – was particularly warm. Inge Vervoort, Head of the International Department, and Jurgen Basstanie, Coordinator of International Relations and Teacher of English and Communications, conveyed words of support to Ukraine and Ukrainians in these difficult times. They highly appreciated the activities of Halyna Tabunshchyk, a professor at the Department of Software, who at one time initiated this cooperation, and noted the successes of our students who participated in academic mobility programs.

In parallel, many acquaintances and communications with representatives of universities, educational alliances, and international organizations took place, opening new horizons for cooperation.
