Stady-tour in Munich is officially over!

From June 14 to 18, an expert information meeting “Education in the energy efficiency sector – new approaches to organizing the educational and research process” was held in Munich.

NU “Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic” was represented by Vice-Rector Andriy Ivanchenko. Ukrainian, German colleagues and heads of the GIZ-Ukraine office, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine highly appreciated the university’s projects presented by him. Representatives of the Energy Innovation Hubs and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine noted practical ideas for themselves. We already have topics for future joint developments with new friends-scientists.

As part of the tour, the participants visited the Wildpoldsried energy village. There they got acquainted with the implemented modern energy-efficient approaches, discussed the available solutions:
— private and municipal photovoltaic systems — with battery energy storage and own electricity consumption
— public wind turbines
— energy-saving projects

The presentation by Thomas Pfluger “Local heating networks — using waste heat from biogas plants” was inspiring. During a tour of the inner part of the village, the participants had the opportunity to personally see how the solutions described by Mr. Pfluger in his presentation are implemented.

During a visit to the outer part of the village, the guests examined how wind turbines, a biogas farm, an energy campus, and cogeneration plants work.

The tour concluded at the University of Munich. The REDEFINE H2E Lab (TUM) and its equipment for energy-efficient biomass processing were presented. Its main focus is the production of climate-neutral fuels and synthetic gases in order to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

The study tour took place within the framework of the project “Promoting Energy Efficiency and Implementation of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive in Ukraine”, which is implemented by GIZ on behalf of the governments of Germany and Switzerland.
