Panel discussion “The Olympic Path: From Victories to Mission”

On October 14, a unique panel discussion “The Olympic Path: From Victories to Mission” was held at the educational hub of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the university. The discussion brought together over 160 participants in online and offline formats.

The participants were greeted by people who develop the sports sphere of our region: the rector of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University, the head of the Separate Unit of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Sports Student Union of Ukraine” in the Zaporizhia region Viktor Greshta, the head of the Department of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the ZODA Oleksandr Zlobenets, the head of the Zaporizhia Regional Branch of the NOC of Ukraine Nataliya Vlasova, and the head of the Zaporizhia Branch of the Olympic Academy of Ukraine Halyna Kruzhylo.

Sport is a means of unity, rehabilitation and strengthening of the spirit. It is an inseparable part of the philosophy and DNA of our university. We are grateful to the star-studded line-up of Olympians who sincerely shared their stories and inspired young people to new achievements! Among them: Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics Olga Strazheva, bronze medalist of the 2000 Olympics Anna Sorokina, bronze medalist of the 2000 Olympics in diving Olena Zhupina, bronze medalist of the 2004 Olympics Oksana Raikhel, Honored Coach of Ukraine Tetyana Turova, Olympic champion in handball Serhiy Kushniruk, and Olympic medalist in track and field Olesya Povkh.

All honored Olympians received memorable gifts from the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University and the Zaporizhia Regional Branch of the NOC of Ukraine. And the most active participants in the discussion, who asked the most interesting questions, were awarded special presents from the NOC of Ukraine.
