On March 10, the second of 5 open webinars within the framework of the Business Ideas Competition «STARTUP with Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» took place. Together with Yuliia Tereshchenko, Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, a leading intellectual property professional at UKRNOIVI, we analyzed the intricacies of marketing for the development of business ideas and startups.

Participants learned:
– how to identify and understand your target audience
– how to prepare a value proposition and test your product for compliance with the needs of a potential consumer
– how to analyze the market, form a business model, and build an effective marketing strategy

Together with the expert, the participants discussed and analyzed their own business ideas using various marketing tools.

On March 3, the first open webinar was held as part of the Business Ideas Competition «STARTUP with Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic». Together with Investhub Club President Oles Varenik and Investhub Accelerator mentor Anton Bogdanov, they discussed in detail the topic «Entrepreneurship: motivation for entrepreneurial activity, generation of business ideas».

Experts shared their own experience and revealed the most interesting topics:
– how to start a business without large investments
– where to look for customers
– common mistakes of startups
– ideal startup and relations with investors
– what to do with founder burnout and unfair competitive advantage
– how scientific achievements can grow into a startup
– what is most important in a startup and what tools will be useful at various stages of its development

Participants talked about their ideas and visions, learned useful recommendations about experiences and fears at the beginning of their entrepreneurial journey.

NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» currently serves as a shelter for internally displaced persons who were forced to leave their homes due to Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine.

A significant number of displaced persons, including children, people with disabilities, and people with limited mobility, currently live in Dormitory No. 4 of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University. Most residents came from areas of active hostilities or temporarily occupied territories.

The university has contacted partners regarding the possibility of carrying out renovation work in the recreation room located on the first floor of dormitory No. 4. This room is necessary for organizing events to provide psychological and legal support to internally displaced persons, as well as for conducting educational and developmental activities for children living in the dormitory.

We are sincerely grateful to the public organization «Fight for Rights» for their involvement in resolving the issue of performing repairs in the dormitory. The funds allocated by the public organization, together with university funding, enabled the contractor to perform high-quality repairs to the leisure hall.

The total project budget — about 150,000 hryvnias — allowed for the following:
– replacement of electrical wiring
– plastering of walls and wallpapering
– installation of a stretch ceiling
– installation of sockets and lamps
– floor arrangement (laying carpet)
– installation of an electrical panel and other necessary work

The described cooperation contributes to the creation of decent living conditions for all residents of the hostel, which is especially important for vulnerable categories of the population.

Coordinating center for mental health of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for the purpose of sharing experience and presenting the assets of higher education institutions that are participants of the community of universities of the All-Ukrainian mental health program «How are you?» — the initiative of the first lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska — on February 27, he organized a visit to the Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University.

The Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University was presented at the event by Andrii Ivanchenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Socio-Economic Development and Youth Policy. Field meetings are a traditional format for sharing experience and best practices among community higher education institutions.

First Lady Olena Zelenska, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mykola Trofymenko, Deputy Minister of Veteran Affairs Yuliya Kirilova, representatives of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education, National Qualifications Agency, vice-chancellors and heads of psychological services of universities of the «How are you?» community, experts in the field of mental health also took part.

During the meeting, the results of a study on the training of non-medical specialists in the field of mental health were presented. What should be the answers to the gaps highlighted by the research — the meeting participants strategized during a practical workshop.

6 new educational courses for mental health professionals created by «How are you?» in accordance with international standards and taking into account professional requests: «Prevention of risky behavior among young people», «Trauma-informed approach», «Adolescence: a map for adults», «Legislation in the field of mental health: a navigator for a specialist», «Motherhood and parenting without stress: a course for specialists» and «Basic communication skills for psychosocial support providers».

The project was implemented with the support of the «Partnership for a Strong Ukraine» program, financed by the Governments of Great Britain, Estonia, Canada, Norway, Finland, Switzerland and Sweden.

Full-time employees of the student campus under the leadership of director Vadym Dubina continue to work in an intensified mode and help the affected people.

Yes, on February 21, the Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration organized the distribution of «warmth packages» in dormitory No. 4.

The bags contain things that are necessary during cold weather and blackouts: blankets, thermoses, flashlights and power banks.

The preparation of recipient lists, the collection of displaced persons, the organization of unloading and the issuing of aid itself were successfully carried out by the employees of hostel No. 4: the head of the hostel Valerii Ignashov, his deputy Svitalana Voronina, and Liudmyla Andriichenko from Kastelya.

Approximately 200 people who live in a place of temporary residence for internally displaced persons in dormitory No. 4 of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic received assistance.

As vice-rector Andriy Ivanchenko noted, who visited the dormitory on the day of the grant, such support is extremely important in the conditions of martial law and regular power outages. The university will continue to contribute to ensuring proper living conditions for internally displaced persons and will interact with state authorities and social partners to provide comprehensive assistance to those who need it.

Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic is never left behind!

One of our reliable partners is the French non-governmental organization TRIANGLE GENERATION HUMANITER Association.

The purpose of cooperation is to join efforts to support the civilian population that suffered as a result of armed aggression.

After numerous enemy strikes near dormitory #4, there was an urgent need to restore the damaged infrastructure, in particular, to replace the doors. Within the framework of the implemented project, a complex of dismantling and assembly works was carried out, namely:
– 24 interior doors were replaced (with handles and locks)
– 1 new metal entrance door (with handles and locks) was installed;
– installation of slopes was performed

The total cost of the completed works amounted to more than 370 thousand hryvnias.

The 1st round of the All-Ukrainian competition «Teacher of the Year-2026» in the nomination «English» in the Zaporizhzhia region has ended. 22 teachers from the Zaporizhzhia region registered to participate in the competition.

English language teachers from the following secondary education institutions of the Zaporizhzhia region competed in the finals:
– Yuliya Bila, Bilenkiv Lyceum «Leader»
– Iryna Lutsova, Zaporizhzhia Gymnasium #11
– Oksana Overchenko, Zaporizhzhia Secondary School of Grades I–III #88

The finalists were congratulated by the vice-rector of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic Andriy Ivanchenko, the head of the jury Nataliya Zhukova, the director of the Zaporizhzhia Academic Lyceum Dmytro Koshel and the deputy head of the jury Larisa Strelets.

The victory in the regional round was won by Iryna Lutsova, who will represent the Zaporizhzhia region at the all-Ukrainian level of the Competition. Congratulations on the victory!

The DAAD international educational project InduTwin@scale, the implementation of which on the basis of our partner Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FH Dortmund, Germany) ended in December 2025, provided opportunities not only for students, but also for teachers of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic: https://www.fh-dortmund.de/projekte/fis.import.proj.de.194.php?loc=en

Thanks to the support of the project coordinator for Ukraine, Armenia and Kazakhstan, professor emeritus of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic, director of IDiAL FH Dortmund Carsten Wolf, representatives of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic participated in the online course «Teaching Methods in International Higher Education» (TMIHE).

It was a comprehensive 9-month program for teachers from Ukraine, Germany, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Peru, India, Colombia, Armenia. It aimed to provide non-native university teachers with the skills and techniques needed to effectively teach subjects in English to international student groups.

The course combined the principles of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) to develop intercultural competence and collaborative learning.

Participants from Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic – Associate Professor of the Department of Software Tools Anzhelika Parkhomenko and Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Systems and Networks Iryna Zelenova took part in six structured modules aimed at improving both pedagogical methods and English language skills, completed all tasks and received Certificates of successful completion of studies.

The TMIHE program emphasized innovative digital tools, modern learning resources and methodology, which provided teachers with the necessary competencies to create an engaging and relevant learning environment. Mutual evaluation, feedback and discussion have become an integral part of the course.

In addition to synchronous and asynchronous assignments, course participants participated in professional learning clusters, allowing them to network, share best practices, and network for potential research opportunities.

On February 10, an online meeting was held on the basis of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University with the director of the agency «NDA Recruitment: a scholarship for your project» Zlata Doshko!

Pro-rector Andriy Ivanchenko started the discussion, who emphasized the importance of supporting youth ideas, and also emphasized that students’ ideas have the power to change the future. And the Polytechnic has the space, resources and support team for this.

During the meeting, the participants learned:
– what are the selection criteria for students and postgraduates
– what are the key areas of project writing
– what opportunities are open for students and researchers
– about vacancies and prospects for cooperation with the company

The finale was a lively Q&A session – with specific questions, honest answers and practical advice for those who are already thinking about their own project.

The event was organized by the Center for Promoting Employment of Students and Graduates.

On February 6, the rector of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University Viktor Greshta and the head of the NGO «Laboratory of Military-Political Research and Reconstruction» Vladyslava Moroko signed a memorandum of cooperation.

Pro-rector Andrii Ivanchenko and head of the department of project activities of NU «Zaporizka Polytechnic» Mariia Pavlenko also took part in the working meeting from the side of the Polytechnic.

The main areas of cooperation:
– raising awareness of all services for veterans and their families, about their benefits and opportunities, about the possibilities of starting their own business, about the possibilities of obtaining an education
– promoting the expansion of experience in the field of social and legal protection of veterans and their families
– protecting the constitutional rights, freedoms and interests of veterans and their families, by ensuring the right to work and employment assistance
– provision of social, psychological and legal assistance for veterans

«Real professionals in their fields work in the fund – psychologists, rehabilitators, lawyers, we have points of contact with the activities of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic in the context of opportunities for the professional development of defenders, and our common priority is the comprehensive support of veterans on the way to returning to civilian life», – noted Rector Viktor Greshta.

Zaporizka Polytechnic University and the Representation of the International Organization for Migration in Ukraine (IOM) are linked by fruitful cooperation. During all the years of the full-scale war, the IOM systematically supported the dormitories of the student campus of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic, which became a shelter for forcibly displaced people.

Thanks to our joint efforts, we have provided multi-purpose support to the displaced. The improvement of everyday life in the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic dormitories became a good example of effective cooperation. IOM provided monetary grants for repairs of premises, rooms and corridors, replacement of windows and plumbing, and when the task of organizing recreation and quality socialization arose, the partners took care of leisure and moral climate in places of temporary residence of the displaced community.

We are glad that this cooperation continues and has its significant results. At the end of 2025, in order to improve the quality of living conditions and ensure proper sanitary standards for internally displaced persons, the university administration turned to the Mission of the International Organization for Migration in Ukraine (IOM) with a request to facilitate the repair of common areas (corridor, kitchen, bathroom) and replacement of entrance doors to rooms in residential blocks on the 7th, 8th and 9th floors, where IDPs live, as well as to equip an accessible toilet for people with disabilities on the 2nd floor in dormitory #4.

And already at the beginning of 2026 there are results. The International Organization for Migration (affiliated with the UN, Representation in Ukraine) carried out construction and repair work at the Polytechnic free of charge as part of the project «Responding to the urgent needs of the war-affected population and expanding the capabilities of local entities in Ukraine» («IOM Project»), which is implemented by IOM with funding from the Directorate General of the European Commission for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations.

Comprehensive dismantling and installation of water supply and sewage systems, electrical wiring, heating was carried out, plumbing fixtures, lamps, switches, balcony blocks and windows, doors were replaced, floors and ceilings were repaired, plasterboard partitions were installed and walls were painted on the 2nd, 7th, 8th and 9th floors of dormitory No. 4 of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic.

The total amount of completed works exceeded UAH 3.5 million

As part of the cooperation between the Children’s and Youth Scientific University «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» and the Youth Space «KoLaba» of the Regional Universal Scientific Library, a joint educational lesson on 3D modeling and 3D printing was held. Students of the 8th grade of the Zaporizhzhia Technical Lyceum took part, plunging into the world of modern engineering and digital technologies.

The students were greeted by the director of DYUNU, Olena Nazarova, and the head of the department of metal-cutting machines and tools, Mykhailo Frolov, who told the students about the development of innovations and additional opportunities for self-realization through 3D technologies.

Senior lecturer of the Department of Metal Cutting Machine Tools and Tools Serhiy Tanchenko introduced the participants to the basic concepts of creating 3D models in the British software Carveco. He demonstrated the operation of a modern machine tool and showed how digital models are used to manufacture real parts.

Senior lecturer at the Department of Lifting and Transport Technologies Dmytro Kozak spoke about the principles of operation of 3D printers and various ways of creating products using additive technologies, drawing attention to their practical application in engineering and production.

The students got acquainted with the KoLab laboratory, its equipment and the possibilities of using the space for learning, creativity and the implementation of student projects.
