Lecture series «Dependent and codependent relationships»
Why do we stay in relationships that cause pain?
Why is it so difficult to say «no», to defend our own boundaries or to leave, even when we understand that we are not well?
Where does love end and addiction begin?
And what is really behind codependency?
The Psychological Service of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University invites you to the lecture series «Dependent and codependent relationships» – about the psychological mechanisms that shape our relationships with others and influence the choice of partners, behavior and ability to be close.
Speaker – Yaryna May – Gestalt therapist, supervisor in training, leader of therapeutic groups and courses, author of the psychotherapeutic blog and book «Lavender Pass» about the psychological maturation of a woman.
Within the cycle, we will talk about:
– the difference between concepts: dependence and codependency
– emotional dependence
– violation of personal boundaries
– control, jealousy, fear of loss and fear of loneliness
– scenarios in which a person «rescues», «tolerates» or constantly adjusts
– why we repeat destructive relationship models
– how healthy intimacy is formed
– is it possible to get out of codependent relationships and build a different way of interacting
