Together we create a space of care and support
On October 21, a joint flower planting took place in the territory of Dormitory No. 2 of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University – an initiative that united people around good deeds, care, and the desire to create beauty with their own hands.
The dormitory manager Anna Borisova welcomed the participants. The event was also attended by the campus director Vadym Dubyna and the campus deputy director Diana Zaporozhskaya.
Together, the participants planted flowers, shared positive emotions, and made the common space more comfortable. And after work, everyone was treated to a friendly tea party with delicious treats ☕️
For the residents of the hostel, such meetings are of particular importance. A significant part of them are internally displaced persons who left their homes due to hostilities or temporary occupation of their native territories. The events experienced, forced relocation and loss of their familiar environment leave their mark, so it is important to create conditions in which people can feel support, care and unity. After all, home is not only a place where you live. It is also people nearby, sincere communication and the feeling that you are not alone with your experiences.
Such initiatives help restore emotional strength, promote social cohesion and give a sense of belonging to the community. And the flowers planted will become a small symbol of hope, a new beginning and the care that we can give to each other.
Thank you to everyone who joined in creating beauty around us! Together, we are creating a space in which you want to live, communicate, and feel at home.
The event was organized as part of the project «Support Point: Space for Development and Support for IDPs» at the initiative of the Center for Support of Public Initiatives «Vilny UA» within the framework of the grant competition «Sparks of Communities: Partnership between ISAR Unity and GlobalGiving for Sustainability», implemented by ISAR Unity with funding from GlobalGiving.
