Screening of the documentary film «Open World» in the scientific library of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University
On October 14, at 1:00 p.m., the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University will host a screening of the documentary «Open World» by Ukrainian directors Roman Himey and Yarema Malashchuk. The event is organized by the Docudays UA Film Club of Human Rights Media Education at the Scientific Library of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University together with the team of the Docudays UA Traveling Festival.
At the center of the film is an unusual story in which modern technologies become a means of reestablishing a connection with one’s hometown. The tape touches on the themes of memory, forced displacement, personal experience and the sense of home, encouraging us to think about how distance changes our perception of familiar places and our own past.
After the screening, there will be a discussion with the participation of the invited guest – actor Yaroslav Adamov. The meeting will be moderated by Larisa Golovko, the regional coordinator of the Docudays UA Traveling Festival, a psychologist.
Participants will have the opportunity to talk about the experience of living far from their hometown, returning to Zaporizhzhia, and the importance of home in a person’s life.
The screening will take place as part of the 23rd Traveling International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival Docudays UA, which takes place in Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia region in October.
