Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University discussed countering recruitment and youth safety in the digital space
On October 22, a lecture-meeting «Do not become a tool in someone else’s game» was held at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University. The event was organized in a mixed format with the aim of raising the level of awareness of student youth about the threats of recruitment and information and psychological operations of the enemy.
Today, the enemy is trying to destabilize the situation inside the country by using the digital activity of young people. Under the guise of simple online tasks, easy part-time work on Telegram, or acquaintances on social networks, sabotage is hidden: arson of property and military vehicles, blackmail, and other illegal actions that are punishable by criminal liability.
The conversation with the students was joined by Pro-Rector Andriy Ivanchenko, Head of the Zaporizhzhia District Police Department, Police Colonel Serhiy Bychyn, Head of the Civil Protection, Fire, Technogenic Safety, Labor Protection and Military Accounting Service of the university Andriy Dolynnyi, as well as specialized specialists in the field of law enforcement and security.
During the practical part, participants learned about manipulation patterns, danger markers during online communication, and a clear algorithm of actions: how to stop dangerous contact, record evidence of blackmail, and promptly contact law enforcement and trusted adults. The meeting ended with an open question-and-answer session.
A personal meeting between the university rector Viktor Greshta and the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Unitary Enterprise Serhiy Bychyn also took place. The parties agreed on the vector of further systemic cooperation and discussed the holding of the next joint events.
Be vigilant, check the information and practice digital hygiene! Let’s work for safety and a common Victory!
