The youth of Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic University won the "Great Race" city robotics competition
On May 17, the city robotics competition “The Great Race” took place, which is dedicated to popularizing STEM education and IT skills among young people. The competition provided for two nominations – “LEGO” and “Arduino”. The participants had to develop a robot car that was used to overcome obstacles and compete in speed while completing various tasks.
Vice-rector Ruslan Kulikovskyi, deputy director of the Department of Education and Science Andriy Khmelnytskyi, director of the Communarsky District Center for Youth and Schoolchildren Mykhailo Khvastyk, director of the Avionics Center “AVIAGRADE — ZAPORIZHZHIA POLYTECHNIC” and chief judge of the competition Roman Pavlyuk congratulated the competition participants. Also, sponsors and friends of the event took the floor – representatives of the Charitable Foundation “Tavriiski Zori-2023” – Inna Solomyana, Anna Soboleva, Kateryna Kinineeva, as well as the co-founder of the foundation Serhii Katrechko.
The winners in the “LEGO” nomination were students of the Children’s and Youth Scientific University “Zaporizka Polytechnic”:
1st place – Yaroslav Shefer
2nd place – Yehor Shulym
The head of the “LEGO STEM-laboratory” circle is Volodymyr Osadchiy, associate professor of the department of electric drive and automation of industrial installations. The winners of the competition received interesting prizes and goodies.
The event was organized by the Communard District Center for Youth and Schoolchildren and the Children’s and Youth Scientific University of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University with the support of the Department of Education and Science of the Zaporizhzhia City Council and the Tavriysky Zori-2023 Charitable Foundation.
The event was filled with an atmosphere of friendly competition, and the dexterity and creative solutions of young engineers left no chance of defeat.
