Green economy of Zaporizhzhia: current challenges and future prospects
On October 9, students of the Faculty of Business Technologies and Economics joined the meeting «Dialogue between Government and Business» on the topic «Potential of Zaporizhzhia in the Development of a Green Economy». During the event, they discussed how to develop the economy of a front-line city, support entrepreneurship, and create a basis for sustainable post-war recovery.
Among the key topics:
- energy sustainability and energy efficiency
- ecological modernization of industry
- small and medium-sized business development
- circular economy and rational use of resources
- investments, European standards and new competencies for future professionals
Of particular interest were practical approaches to assessing the economic potential of Zaporizhzhia and determining the priorities for its development in the conditions of war and post-war reconstruction.
For our students, this is an opportunity to see how economic theory combines with real business and regional challenges, and analytical knowledge becomes the basis for informed management decisions.
A green economy is not just about the environment. It is about business sustainability, competitiveness, and Zaporizhzhia’s ability to develop even in difficult conditions. The future of the region is being shaped today, and young economists are an important part of these changes!
