Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University is a strategic partner of the European alliance ChallengeEU
In October 2026, Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University took an important step in the development of international cooperation and integration into the European educational and scientific space – during a working meeting in Latvia, a Memorandum of Strategic Partnership was signed with the European University Alliance ChallengeEU.
ChallengeEU unites nine universities from Germany, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Latvia, Poland and North Macedonia.
The Alliance aims to transform higher education, develop international cooperation, research and innovation. Its activities are aimed at creating an open and inclusive European educational space, expanding opportunities for learning and professional development, and bringing together universities, business and society to find innovative solutions to current social, economic and regional challenges https://zp.edu.ua/international-activities/associations-and-alliances/challengeeu/
An important role in attracting Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic to cooperation with the alliance was played by our long-time partner – Offenburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany). It was his initiative and active support, in particular the personal interest of the university’s rector, Professor Stephan Trahasch, that opened this opportunity for us. We are sincerely grateful to the management and colleagues from Offenburg for their trust, consistent support and assistance in expanding Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic’s international partnerships. Our universities already have significant experience of working together, implemented projects and educational initiatives, and this cooperation continues to develop.
Partnership with ChallengeEU opens up new prospects for the university community: participation of students and teachers in academic mobility programs, access to joint training courses and international educational events, involvement in research teams and interuniversity projects, exchange of experience and development of professional competencies.
For Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic, which continues to develop in the conditions of a front-line city, it is especially important to be part of the European academic environment, to implement modern educational and scientific practices, and to create new opportunities for students and university employees.
The signing of the Memorandum of Strategic Partnership is an important stage in the international integration of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University and the expansion of its presence in the European educational and scientific space. The next step is acquiring the status of an associated partner of the ChallengeEU alliance, which will open up even more opportunities for the university community!
