Round table "Conceptual principles of implementation of the project of introduction of specialized education in Zaporizhzhia institutions together with Zaporizhia Polytechnic"
On August 25, a meeting with directors of general secondary education institutions of Zaporizhzhia was held at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University. Vice-rector Andriy Ivanchenko welcomed the participants, stressing the importance of creating conditions for the comprehensive development of young people and the formation of interest in learning and engineering education. A welcome speech was also given by at. Director of the Department of Education and Science of the City Council Vitaliy Lysenko.
The purpose of the event is to sum up the results of the past academic year, to present a calendar of educational, scientific and career guidance events for schoolchildren, as well as to present new projects of Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic.
The calendar of events was presented by Tetyana Solovyova, director of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Center of Polytechnic Education. During the year, students of grades 6-11 are expected to:
? educational and scientific activities
? career guidance programs
? intellectual and sports competitions
? contests and festivals
Many projects have become the hallmark of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic: Science Night, Career Forum, STEM project “Smart House”, Science Week and Holidays with Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic. During the meeting, new educational initiatives aimed at the development of the intellectual and creative potential of students, the formation of scientific research skills and interest in scientific activity while still at school were presented
Special attention was paid to the Children’s and Youth Scientific University “Zaporizka Polytechnic”, whose activities were presented by the director Olena Nazarova. Here, schoolchildren can choose circles according to the following directions: engineering, automation, mechanical engineering, IT technologies, humanitarian and social spheres.

At the end of the meeting, vice-rector Andriy Ivanchenko thanked 80 teaching staffs of schools for their active participation in the events and fruitful cooperation.
