Internship of teachers of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University at the Danube University Krems (Austria)
A new multidisciplinary specialty “Telemedical and Biomedical Systems” is being opened at the National University “Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic” since 2019 with the support of the international Erasmus + KA2 project “Innovative Multidisciplinary Curriculum in Artificial Implants for Bio-Engineering BSc/MSc Degrees” (BIOART, reg. number 586114-EPP-1-2017-1-ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP).
Teacher training is carried out at European universities – Polytechnic University of Madrid University, Krakow University of Technology, Danube University Krems (Austria) and Catholic University of Leuven.
From June 2 to 8, university teachers Dr. Tech., Prof., Head of the Department of Descriptive Geometry, Engineering and Computer Graphics V.A. Shalomeev and Ph.D. Tech. and Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of Software G.V. Tabunshchyk, together with teachers from partner universities in Ukraine and Israel, underwent an internship at the Danube University Krems (Austria).
Training in biomechanics, modern directions in regenerative medicine, biosensors, machine learning, 3D printing, etc. took place on two campuses – in Krems and Wiener Neustadt. Study visits were organized to the biomechanics laboratories, the biooptics laboratory, the biomedical equipment laboratory, and the biomedical 3D printing laboratory.
A separate day was devoted to innovations and the business incubator. The pre-incubator operating on the Wiener Neustadt campus was presented. Visiting the companies Empulsion, AIT (Austrian Institute of Technologies) and ACMIT (Austrian Centre for Medical Innovation and Technologies) allowed not only to get acquainted with modern achievements in bioengineering but also to adopt the experience of effective cooperation between universities and business.
During the internship, an external assessment of the quality of the results obtained and the project processes carried out was carried out and meetings were held on readiness for pilot training, at which representatives of partner universities presented educational and methodological materials for new and modified courses.
