Engineering education is aimed at human well-being
Zaporizhzhia National Technical University is the coordinator in Ukraine of the international project Erasmus+ 586114-EPP-1-2017-1-ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP “Innovative multidisciplinary curriculum for the training of bachelors and masters in artificial implants for bioengineering” (BIOART), one of 8 projects in Ukraine that received funding under the Erasmus + KA2 program (higher education potential development) in 2017.
The delegation from ZNTU at the kick-off meeting in Madrid (Spain) on February 7-9, 2018 was headed by the rector, Dr. of Technical Sciences, Prof. S.B. Byelikov. The participants were welcomed by the Director of the Institute of Telecommunications of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Professor Amador Miguel, and the project coordinator, Professor David Luengo. Representatives of the Technical University of Krakow (Krakow, Poland), Thomas More University College (Sint-Catalin-Waver, Belgium), the University of Continuing Education-Danube University (Krems, Austria), representatives of four Ukrainian universities (Zaporizhzhya National Technical University, Priazov State Technical University, Vinnytsia National Technical University, Donbas State Machine-Building Academy), three Israeli universities (Semi Shamon College of Engineering, Bar Ilan University, Holon Technical University), a representative of the Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology named after Sitenko (Kharkiv, Ukraine) and the Institute of Continuing Education (Israel) presented existing training programs and their own scientific developments in the field of modern artificial implants and developed an action plan for the implementation of the project tasks (agenda.pdf).
At ZNTU, a new innovative multidisciplinary training program will be implemented at the Department of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications (Head of the Department S.V. Morshchavka). The working group also includes employees of the Department of Software (Head of the Department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Prof. S.O. Subbotin; Prof., Candidate of Technical Sciences G.V. Tabunshchyk; Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences A.V. Parkhomenko) and the Department of Descriptive Geometry, Engineering and Computer Graphics (Head of the Department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Prof. V.A. Shalomeev).
On February 8, 2018, the Rector of Zaporizhia National Technical University S.B. Belikov and the Vice-Rector of the Azov Technical University O.P. Cheilyakh held a meeting with the Vice-Rector for Academic Strategy and Internationalization of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Prof. José M. Antinza, on the development of strategic partnerships between universities. The importance of deepening cooperation in technical sciences and the importance of the BIOART project as a starting point was emphasized. Support for the Erasmus+KA1 individual mobility project for teachers and students between ZNTU and the Polytechnic University of Madrid was confirmed. The leading internationalization consultant, Prof. A. Alvarez, presented existing opportunities for Ukrainian scientists and students funded by national institutions in Spain. The main areas for further scientific cooperation were identified as information technologies, new materials, aircraft engines and telecommunications.
The deadline for the BIOART project: November 15, 2017 – November 14, 2020. More detailed information about the goals and objectives of the project can be found at the link: https://old.zp.edu.ua/?q=node/6985
