In April, the Department of Psychology co-organized psychological workshops for children from the Center for Assistance to the Rescued (CADA) of Zaporizhzhia.

The partners of the department — psychologists of the Center — conducted 2 online workshops. The main participants of the event were pupils of the Youth Movement «Baida» (Cosmic and Shevchenko centers).

On April 3, a psychological workshop on self-knowledge and resource search was successfully held. It was conducted by Viktoriya Verteba, a psychologist at the Center, a stakeholder and a graduate of the Department of Psychology of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, and Tetyana Borodulkina, a psychologist at the Center, an associate professor of the Department of Psychology of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University. The workshop was aimed at helping teenagers and young men understand their inner world, strengthen their «I», and broaden their view of themselves and their lives, which is an important guarantee that a young person will be able to adequately overcome life’s difficulties and cope with the stresses of today. The class included many interesting exercises: for getting to know each other and communicating, «I am in the form of a tree: my features and strengths» (working with metaphorical cards), for self-soothing and recovery «My self-help resources». 

On April 24, Tetyana Borodulkina conducted a workshop on developing creativity «Go beyond the limits!». Participants analyzed what «creativity» and «creativity» are, what qualities a «creative person» possesses, practiced creative thinking, and performed exercises to develop creativity. 

23 participants aged 12 to 18 joined these classes in April.

The Center for Assistance to Rescued Persons in Zaporizhzhia was created on the initiative of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, with the assistance of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, in partnership with UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, thanks to the financial support of the governments of Austria, Belgium, Spain, and Sweden in cooperation with local authorities and the NGO «Association of Women Ambassadors of Ukraine».

On April 22, the Department of Metal-Cutting Machine Tools and Tools, with the support of ZP EDIH, AMS International (Poland) and «AMS-ZP Lab», held a seminar «Tebis Software – New Design Quality» in a mixed format.

More than 50 people participated, including not only our students and teachers, but also invited guests from leading enterprises and educational institutions of the Zaporizhzhia region and Ukraine.

Vice-Rector Vadym Shalomeeyev welcomed the participants. The seminar was conducted by Serhiy Tanchenko, senior lecturer of the Department of Metal-Cutting Machine Tools and Instruments, and its head, Mykhailo Frolov.

During the seminar, new functional capabilities of Tebis software were considered, which provides a full production cycle and its automation:
– Reverse Engineering — creation of high-quality CAD models based on scanned data and MESH geometry for further processing
– SmartOps technology — intelligent automation of CAD/CAM processes, which allows combining operations and significantly reducing production preparation time
– Laser Cutting — construction of multi-coordinate trajectories for laser cutting taking into account the geometry of the part and avoiding collisions
– Trimming — effective formation of NC programs for processing sheet materials and complex surfaces

In addition, participants were introduced to SuPAR, an augmented reality system for controlling assembly operations and finished products.

On April 23, as part of the III International Scientific and Practical Conference «Synergy of Science and Business – 2026» at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, section 11 «Technological Transformation of Business Ecosystems: Engineering Solutions, Digitalization and Sustainable Development» was held.

The event brought together representatives of the academic community, business, government agencies, and international partners. Ukrainian and foreign speakers participated, presenting practical cases, analytical approaches, and sharing their experience in implementing innovations in various fields of activity.

Current issues of digital transformation of the economy, implementation of engineering and management solutions, development of partnerships between education and business, building trust in the product, as well as practical implementation of the principles of sustainable development were discussed.

The section confirmed the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue and international cooperation in the formation of sustainable business ecosystems and the development of the modern economy of Ukraine. Working together – developing together!

On April 17, the final open webinar was held as part of the IV Business Ideas Competition «STARTUP with Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic». Together with the creative thinking trainer and brand marketing expert Lilit Skrakliy, the participants figured out what a million-dollar idea is, and together they found answers to the questions:
– What is the path a startup takes from idea to successful implementation?
– What are the key qualities for every founder?
– What is the most important thing in a startup?
– How to communicate with an investor?
– What is the main rule of marketing?

The participants shared their experiences with the speaker and received recommendations for further development of their business ideas. She demonstrated useful tools for analyzing ideas and conducted a short master class.

From April 12 to 18, with the financial support of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ), within the framework of a long-term partnership project between the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine and the German Trade Union of Education and Science Workers (GEW), a delegation of educators from Ukraine visited Frankfurt am Main and Mainz.

The project reflected Germany’s commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, social partnership and sustainability of the education sector in Ukraine. The initiative is focused on promoting sustainable organizational development, improving social dialogue mechanisms, and spreading the exchange of best practices in representing the rights and interests of education workers. Special attention was paid to strengthening the capacity of multipliers, adaptation to current socio-economic challenges, in particular those that arose as a result of the war and the need for systemic recovery of Ukraine.

The program of the visit included joint practical sessions aimed at strengthening cooperation and developing future joint initiatives. Reports on the education system in Germany, a tour of the Westend campus of the Goethe University in Frankfurt, participation in the public event «International security policy, civil society and the war in Ukraine» at the Goethe University with the participation of Professor Doc. Tobias Wille, meetings in schools of various types in Frankfurt am Main and Mainz, communication with students and employees of German schools and universities (in particular with Ukrainians), exchange of experience – all these are productive activities within the working trip.

On April 15, Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University students and Zaporizhzhia lyceum students took part in the Conversation Club, which was held by our good friends Holly Tann and Adam McQuire, founders of the British non-profit organization «Casus Pax CIC», together with Mike Kearney, a British teacher, representative of the National Union of Educators.

The atmosphere was so warm that all participants actively participated in the interaction, regardless of the level of language training, forgot about the language barrier and got rid of the fear of speaking in English. The range of topics was extremely wide: and volunteering, and Scottish dialects, and series, and the use of AI in the educational process.

In April, a meeting of representatives of Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro Polytechnics was held regarding the exchange of experience in the development of the innovative ecosystem of higher education institutions.

The event took place on the basis of the Startup School-Incubator-Accelerator of the Dnipro Polytechnic. From the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic, the head of the Student Research Department, the coordinator of «STARTUP with the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» Snizhana Vychuzhanina, the director of the Regional Innovation Hub, associate professor of the Department of Management and Administration Andriy Kuts, the head of the Startup School, the associate professor of the Department of Business and Management Tetyana Sergienko and the associate professor of the Department of Business and Management Olena Kraynik were delegated.

The Zaporizhzhia delegation was hospitably received by the vice-rector of the Dnipro Polytechnic Ihor Nikitenko, the director of the Regional Innovation Hub of NTU «DP» Tetyana Bulana, the director of the Entrepreneurship Development Center «Business Incubator of NTU »DP« Nigar Musaeva with the deputy and the head of the patent and licensing department of NTU »DP” Nataliia Perederii.

Polytechnics presented their achievements in supporting student start-ups and business initiatives, discussed the functioning of start-up schools and innovation hubs, the implementation of mechanisms for the commercialization of scientific developments, the development of cooperation between universities, businesses and regional ecosystems.

The meeting continued with an introduction to the R&D infrastructure and a discussion of joint ideas, activities and projects.

On April 17, a series of events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian designer and organizer of the automotive industry, Stepan Kravchun, the long-time director of the Zaporizhzhia Automobile Plant «Kommunar» («AvtoZAZ») and a graduate of the Polytechnic University, took place at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University.

A seminar to train experts in the inspection of historic cars has started: participants analyzed real cases, studied assessment procedures, requirements for documentation and photo fixation. Experts from different cities of Ukraine, scientists and engineers – those who shape the professional environment – joined the event.

Everyone was greeted by the rector of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Viktor Greshta, representatives of Stepan Kravchun’s family – daughter Nataliia Kravchun, director of the Museum of the History of Technical Progress Nataliia Derkach, President of the AvtoZAZ-DEU ZSTK Roman Shchypkov, and other distinguished guests

One of the most important parts of the meeting was the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University and the NGO «Zaporizhzhia Sports and Technical Club AvtoZAZ-DEU» «Union of Experts of Historical Vehicles». This is the beginning of official cooperation between the university and a public organization in the field of preservation of historical vehicles.

The ZAZ-965 car, which belonged to Stepan Kravchun and is kept in the Museum of the History of Technical Progress in authentic condition, underwent an inspection procedure. All the details agreed upon during the seminar were worked out live: inspection, analysis, expert assessment. The participants received certificates of completion of the Start Seminar, and the results of the practical expert assessment of the ZAZ-965 car were also announced.

Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University together with the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise «Left-Bank Center of Primary Medical and Sanitary Care No. 1» of the Zaporizhzhia City Council is launching a social project for people aged 40+.

We have joined forces to make health care more accessible, easier, and more timely for everyone. The screening includes basic tests, blood pressure monitoring, sugar and cholesterol levels, and a doctor’s consultation.

University employees, their family members, dormitory residents, and anyone aged 40+ can join the project.

It is important that you can use the screening within the framework of the state program through the «Diya» application. Step-by-step instructions will be provided during registration.

The screening will be conducted at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic Institute, where a visiting team of doctors will work. The date will be announced later.

On April 14, a meeting of the selection committee of the IV Business Ideas Competition «STARTUP with Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» took place, where, based on the results of the evaluation, the experts determined the list of finalists for this year’s competition.

During the visit, the guest was presented with modern laboratories of the university, educational opportunities and scientific potential of the institution. Special attention was drawn to the activities of DYUNU, as well as educational hubs created to support displaced community teachers – initiatives that today have extremely important social significance.

The meeting took place in a warm and open atmosphere, became a platform for exchanging experiences and discussing the prospects of international cooperation in the field of education. Such visits not only strengthen partnership ties, but also help convey the truth about Ukrainian education in wartime to the world community.
