On May 10, Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University once again gathered the youth of Zaporizhzhia for the «Career Forum. Professionals’ Perspective 2026», which took place in the Titan Unbreakable Hub. The event brought together students, applicants, business representatives, educators, and employers around the topic of professional development of youth and building a successful career in modern conditions.

The forum became a space for lively communication, new ideas, practical experience and motivation for young people who want to confidently build their own future in Ukraine. Participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the locations of the university’s faculties, talk to teachers and students, learn more about specialties, educational opportunities, internships and professional development prospects.

Thematic locations of the Admissions Committee, faculties, and student government were open. Future entrants received answers to important questions about the admissions campaign, studies, and active student life.

The rector of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Viktor Hreshta addressed the guests with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of education, support for the younger generation, unity and partnership in the face of modern challenges.

This year, the following presented their professional stories, practical cases, and useful tips:
– Denys Ropalo — Head of Digital Marketing of the «Apteka Zaporizhzhia» chain, who spoke on the topic «The Code of Success in Retail: Why Higher Education is Your Main Tool for Action?»
– Anastasiia Narkevych — English and vocal teacher, founder of the creative space «Kanva,» participant in international educational programs, who spoke about the role of education in professional formation and personal development
– Ihor Hempel — restaurateur, head of Bull and California establishments, gastro critic, who shared his own experience in the development of the restaurant business and the modern vision of the hospitality industry

A special atmosphere of the event was created by interactive communication, team interaction, support of partners and sincere interest of young people in their own professional future. The forum was concluded with a drawing of gifts from partners and sponsors, which was held by the head of the student government, Anastasiia Steshenko.

The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, together with the initiative of the President of Ukraine Bring Kids Back UA and partners, are implementing an information campaign on the admission of children and youth from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to Ukrainian institutions of higher education. Ukraine is waiting for its children and creates conditions so that the path to education is real, accessible and safe.

NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» joined the implementation of this information campaign.

Entry conditions depend on the date of departure from the temporarily occupied territory.

If you are on TOT or left after October 1, 2025, you can enter without NMT, based on the results of an interview at the university. If you left earlier, admission is based on the results of the National Medical Examination, but Quota-2 applies to you.

Quota-2 is a separate budget place for applicants from TOT and areas of active hostilities. Admission is held within the framework of a separate competition, which significantly increases the chances of studying under a state order. In most universities, this is about 10% of places, and in displaced and front-line institutions – up to 40%.

Applicants who are on TOT or left after October 1, 2025, can independently choose the admission format: based on the results of the National Medical Examination or through an interview. When entering into a contract by interview, a state grant for training is not provided.

Even if you were unable to enter the budget immediately, after enrolling in the contract, you can apply for transfer to vacant budget positions.

Assistance to applicants is provided by the educational centers «Crimea-Ukraine» and «Donbas-Ukraine», which operate from June 1 to September 30. They accompany applicants at all stages: from completing the necessary assessments to submitting documents and passing an interview. Some procedures can be completed remotely, even before departure.

During admission, applicants are provided with free housing, as well as state support, scholarships, and assistance with adaptation after moving.

If you are only planning to leave the TOT, contact us. As part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative, they help you leave free of charge, confidentially, and with full support, even in the absence of documents. A safe route is selected for everyone.

For those who are not yet ready to start studying right away, preparatory programs and «zero courses» are available that will help you brush up on your knowledge, adapt, and confidently prepare for admission.

On May 5, the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University hosted an open event «Institutional Dialogue of the University and the Educational Community: Human Capital as a Strategic Resource for the Development and Preservation of the Region in Today’s Conditions.» The event brought together representatives of education, trade unions, and the academic community around a key issue: how to preserve and develop the potential of youth, on whom the future of the region depends.

The goal of the meeting was to create an effective platform for cooperation between the university, educators, and trade union organizations. The focus was on joining forces for the successful implementation of the 2026 admission campaign, raising awareness among students and parents about educational opportunities in the region, establishing sustainable school-university interaction, and expanding the professional capabilities of teachers.

The event was opened by the rector of the university, Viktor Greshta, who emphasized that today it is especially important not only to preserve the youth in the region, but also to create real conditions for them to study, develop, and achieve professional self-realization. The head of the regional trade union organization, Nadiya Gryn, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of partnership in supporting the younger generation and shaping its conscious choice.

The participants were presented with modern educational programs that are used in the university and outlined the prospects that open up for students. The topics included international mobility opportunities, dual education, individual educational trajectory, and a combination of different learning formats. Special attention was paid to the admission rules for 2026 and practical aspects of preparing for admission.

The open dialogue format made it possible to discuss current issues, exchange experiences, and develop joint solutions. The participants of the event visited the Experimental Center of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Quantum – a modern innovative space, a place where learning turns into an exciting journey into the world of engineering and technology.

Special emphasis was placed on the role of trade union organizations as reliable partners in disseminating important information and supporting young people in their professional choices. Such interaction strengthens the educational environment, promotes the development of human capital, and opens up new prospects for the region.

With the organizational support of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, National Technical University «Dnipro Polytechnic», State Higher Educational Institution «Uzhgorod National University» on the basis of the National Technical University «Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» the III All-Ukrainian Competition of Student Scientific Papers «Modern Inventions, Developments, Discoveries and Their Applications» in English and Technical Sciences was held.

The 1st stage of the competition was held at the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University and promoted an interdisciplinary approach to presenting students’ innovative and advanced achievements.

The winners of the 1st stage were:

At the all-Ukrainian stage, our student Vitaliy Alekperov presented the work «AI IoT Monitoring System and Predictive ML Algorithms» and took an honorable 1st place!

The development of a vision of the future has started in Zaporizhzhia as part of the «Senses of Cities» initiative. Researchers Andriy Melnyk and Oleksandr Filonenko continue the systematic collection of community value codes, transforming them into strategic guidelines for regional identity. The priority area of ​​the discussion was the revival of engineering culture, where the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University acts as a basic center of technical education and innovative development.

Representatives of the Polytechnic took an active part in the strategic session, where they substantiated the fundamental thesis: «Zaporizhzhia is a powerful intellectual center, and Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic is a reliable foundation that preserves and modernizes one of the strongest schools for training engineers in Ukraine.» It is this scientific and technical potential that should become the basis for a large-scale technological renewal of the state.

Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Studies Volodymyr Chop reminded us that engineering is embedded in the genetic code of our institution.

The modern model of engineering education was presented by the deans of the university’s faculties. They demonstrated that engineering at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic is a comprehensive approach to creating the future. The Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Vasyl Glushko emphasized the importance of preserving classical engineering standards in combination with modern production challenges. The Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology Mariia Tyagunova revealed the aspect of digitalization of engineering, where IT technologies become an integral part and the driver of modern engineering.

Special attention was paid to the concept of diversification: it is the presence of a fundamental engineering school that creates the basis for the development of new interdisciplinary areas and adaptation to the challenges of modernity.

Tetyana Khitrova, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, in her speech emphasized the historical continuity of the university’s leading engineering and science schools and their many years of synergy with the industrial sector of the region. 

Today  Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University is training a new generation of specialists who will become architects of the technological renewal of Ukraine and return Zaporizhzhia the status of a world engineering center. Even in the conditions of a front-line city, under constant enemy shelling, we not only maintain high standards of training, but also form a strategy for the revival of engineering education at the national level. Working together – developing together!

From April 20 to 24, the Staff Week «Defining AI in Science (DAiSI)» was held at the University of Offenburg (Germany). The event was attended by 22 representatives of universities from Poland, Bulgaria, Latvia, France, Spain, Switzerland, Colombia, Brazil and Ukraine.

Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University was presented by Alina Kazurova, Head of the Internationalization Department, Olena Nazarova, Associate Professor of the Department of Electric Drive and Automation of Industrial Plants, and Dmytro Shyrokorad, Associate Professor of the Department of Systems Analysis and Computational Mathematics.

During the week, participants discussed transformations in higher education and science related to the use of artificial intelligence, participated in workshops on the use of AI tools in the educational process, scientific and administrative activities, performed practical tasks, and acquired relevant competencies.

Networking and bandcamps were held in a friendly atmosphere, which contributed to establishing professional contacts and finding new opportunities for international cooperation.

A visit to the campus in Gengenbass was organized, as well as to the Simon Group production site in Eichhalden, where elements of artificial intelligence have been successfully implemented in organizational processes. The participants also visited the monastery in Alpirsbass and were able to experience the atmosphere of an old German town.

A week of intensive work, exchange of experience and intercultural communication opened up new opportunities for further joint initiatives and the development of international partnerships. Working together – developing together!

On April 30, a meeting was held with residents of dormitory No. 4 and representatives of the Triangle Génération Humanitaire organization to discuss the work completed and further needs.

As part of the support, the following has already been implemented:
– replacement of doors on floors 7, 8, 9 (2 blocks) — 8 doors in each block
– renovation of the bathroom on the 1st floor

The total cost of the implemented project is UAH 339,208.70.

The current needs of the collective center were also voiced:
– renovation of the bathroom on the first floor (in the leisure room area)
– renovation of the block on the 7th, 8th, 9th floors (2 blocks)
– renovation of the porch near the leisure room

The awards ceremony for outstanding scientists of Ukraine took place in Kyiv following the results of the 2025 competition. The awards are traditionally awarded for the results of fundamental and applied research that are of great importance for the development of science and technology. This year, among the laureates are representatives of the National Aerospace University «Khaylovarsk Aerospace University», who received the O. K. Antonov Award for their work on improving the characteristics of aircraft gas turbine engines.

We sincerely congratulate Ihor Kravchenko, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic Institute, Professor of KhAI, General Designer, General Director of JSC «Ivchenko-Progress», Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine, on this distinction.

It is important for the university that its supervisory board is headed by a specialist of this level – with a deep understanding of the industry, experience in real production and a strategic vision of the future of aviation science. Your participation in the life of Khai is a real and tangible contribution to the preservation and development of scientific schools, support of engineering education and strengthening the connection of the university with industry. It is thanks to this position that the traditions of the legendary Khai engine building school and the world-famous Zaporizhzhia engine building school continue.

Representatives of NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» took part in the meeting of the university community of the All-Ukrainian mental health program «How are you?», which took place on April 28 at Lutsk National Technical University.

The meeting was organized by the Coordination Center for Mental Health of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as part of the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska. The community of universities of the «How are you?» program unites higher education institutions that implement best practices in mental health care in the educational environment and develop relevant competencies of future specialists.

The Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University was presented at the event by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Socio-Economic Development and Youth Policy Andriy Ivanchenko and the coordinator of the university’s psychological service, Alena Sadykina.

Current challenges in the field of mental health were discussed, in particular the issue of training non-medical professionals, the development of university support services, and the formation of a culture of psychological well-being.

During a panel discussion on strategic responses to gaps in specialist training, Alena Sadykina spoke about the experience of the university’s psychological service.

The participants were introduced to the achievements of LNTU in developing a university environment supporting mental health: implemented initiatives, as well as services and spaces aimed at building psychological resilience and well-being of students and employees.

Participation in such initiatives contributes to strengthening the role of universities as centers for the formation of psychological resilience, the development of a culture of mutual support and a responsible attitude towards mental health. We thank the organizers for the invitation and the opportunity to join an important professional dialogue!

Support for the development and implementation of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program «How Are You?» — an initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska — is provided by the Coordination Center for Mental Health of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with expert support from the World Health Organization (WHO).

On April 25, on the occasion of the All-Ukrainian Psychologist’s Day, a psychological workshop «Metaphor of the Life Path» was held by the Center for Helping the Rescued of Zaporizhzhia, co-organized by the Department of Psychology.

The workshop was conducted by Tetiana Borodulkina, a psychologist at the Center, associate professor of the Department of Psychology, author of the MAK, author and psychologist of the project «Psychological Space »Entelechy of Meaning”. Among the participants were students, undergraduates and graduates of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, city psychologists and teachers.

With the help of subject metaphors, metaphorical associative maps with images of various roads, paths and trails, art methods, in particular drawing and modeling in the sand, the participants explored themselves and their life path, looking for answers to the questions «Who am I?», «Where am I now?», «At what stage of my life’s journey am I?», «What path of my life am I following?», «What helps me, supports me and is a resource?».

The Center for Assistance to Rescued Persons in Zaporizhzhia was created on the initiative of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, with the assistance of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, in partnership with UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, thanks to the financial support of the governments of Austria, Belgium, Spain, and Sweden in cooperation with local authorities and the NGO «Association of Women Ambassadors of Ukraine».

24 квітня відбувся урочистий фінал IV Конкурсу бізнес-ідей «STARTUP із Запорізькою політехнікою».

Конкурс стартував у лютому для всіх охочих незалежно від віку, напряму та рівня освіти, до участі долучилися 34 команди. Щоб якнайкраще презентувати свої напрацювання, учасники пройшли навчальний курс з 5 вебінарів, організований спільно з Українським національним офісом інтелектуальної власності та інновацій, Національним хабом інтелектуальної власності та інновацій та Мережею Центрів підтримки технологій та інновацій. Окрім конкурсантів, взяти участь у вебінарах змогли всі, кого цікавлять питання підприємництва, маркетингу, фінансів, інтелектуальної власності та мистецтво презентації. Усього до вебінарів долучилися майже 100 учасників.

Відбір до фіналу пройшли 11 команд, які представили свої бізнес-ідеї перед експертами та потенційними інвесторами.

Експерти відзначили серйозний рівень підготовки проєктів і побажали командам успішно розвивати свої напрацювання та знаходити вдячних користувачів.

За результатами оцінювання призові місця посіли такі команди:

1 місце — «Kerbot Drone» у складі Олега Савченка (БК–615м) та Івана Бушмана (БК–612). Вони представили інженерну платформу для проєктування, перевірки сумісності та аналізу модульних безпілотних систем із підтримкою AI та користувацьких розширень.

2 місце — «Farm2Home» у складі Артема Дигтяра (БТЕ–0813) та Ганни Журавель (БТЕ–0813). Вони представили фермерське господарство, що виробляє натуральні молочні продукти й доставляє їх напряму від ферми до дверей споживача.

3 місце — «Wonderfacade» у складі Олексія Матюшкіна (М–313) з системою утеплення фасадів. Проєкт також переміг у спеціальній номінації від ПАТ «Запоріжсталь».

У номінації «Приз глядацьких симпатій» перемогла команда «Козак Сіті» у складі Ольги Трубай (БТЕ–1113) та Аліни Литвиненко (БТЕ–1113) разом із наставницею — доценткою кафедри маркетингу та логістики Ніною Павлішиною. Вони представили інноваційний тематичний парк розваг, де через автентичні атракціони та інтерактивні пригоди діти й дорослі занурюються у світ українських традицій, вивчаючи рідну культуру в ігровій формі. Переможниці відзначені цінними призами від профкому студентів НУ «Запорізька політехніка». Проєкт також переміг у спеціальній номінації від ПАТ «Запоріжсталь».

У спеціальних номінаціях від партнерів конкурсу перемогли такі команди:

• «ARMOR-LIFT» у складі Олександра Єлагіна (Т–413сп), старшої викладачки кафедри автомобілів, теплових двигунів та гібридних енергетичних установок Наталі Рябошапки, доцента цієї ж кафедри Олександра Слюсарова, у супроводі наставника — завідувача кафедри Олександра Артюха. Вони представили автономні гідравлічні комплекси швидкого розгортання для безпечного підйому важкої бронетехніки в польових умовах. Проєкт переміг у спецномінаціях від АТ «Мотор Січ», АТ «Прогрес», ПАТ «Запоріжсталь», АТ «Креді Агріколь Банк» та Запорізького кластера «ІАМ»;
• «Promt Pioneers» у складі студентів Запорізького фахового коледжу компʼютерних технологій НУ «Запорізька політехніка» Мілани Могильної, Тимофія Дейдея, Єгора Бєлки та Марії Ніколаєнкової у супроводі наставника — викладача Олександра Щербакова. Вони представили AI-асистент для побудови шляху від навчання до першої роботи. Проєкт переміг у спецномінаціях від АТ «Івченко-Прогрес» та Запорізького кластера «ІАМ»;
• «Вектор Життя» у складі студенток Запорізького державного медико-фармацевтичного університету Софії Богомаз, Вікторії Тісленко, Кароліни Шорохової та Дар’ї Сергієнко (також є студенткою БТЕз–1015). Проєкт переміг у спецномінаціях від Запорізької торгово-промислової палати та АТ «Креді Агріколь Банк». Наставницею команди виступила доцентка кафедри бізнесу та управління Тетяна Сергієнко;
• «РОД» у складі Олексія Матюшкіна (М–313) та старших викладачів кафедри деталей машин та підйомно-транспортних механізмів Романа Фролова та Дмитра Козака, що представили викорчовувач пнів для міні навантажувачів. Проєкт переміг у спецномінаціях від АТ «Креді Агріколь Банк».
