Creating a laboratory of advocacy is a notable and important step in the development of practical legal education in Zaporizhzhia. Thanks to the creation of the laboratory, our students will be able to acquire academic knowledge and immediately learn about the realities of their implementation in the practical work of lawyers and advocates today.
Practical classes, lectures, meetings with practicing lawyers and representatives of legal institutions — all this is already in the laboratory’s schedule. Students will now have even more opportunities: improving their knowledge of preparing procedural documents, practicing public speaking under the guidance of current lawyers, conducting negotiations and legal analysis of cases.
University teachers: professor Maksym Leonenko, associate professors Lilia Baeva, Pavlo Nazarenko and Maksym Deev, as well as practicing lawyers will join the work in the laboratory: Iryna Vasylyk – lawyer, candidate of historical sciences, vice-rector of the Higher Academy of Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences; Olga Dmitrieva is a lawyer, president of the Association of Lawyers of Ukraine, managing partner of JSC “Dmitrieva and Partners”; Vadym Kravtsov — lawyer, head of the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of the Bar of Zaporizhzhya Region; Ihor Shmarin is a lawyer, assistant to the chairman of the Zaporizhzhia District Administrative Court, head of the Legal Clinic of Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic University, candidate of legal sciences.
The team of professional, experienced lawyers and scientists will be a powerful support for students in mastering their chosen profession. Such cooperation will contribute to the formation of a new generation of lawyers – competent, active and socially responsible.
The opening of the laboratory became a symbol of the law faculty’s movement towards innovative education, which prepares not just specialists, but future leaders of the legal community of Ukraine!
