Representatives of the Department of Psychology completed the course "Combat Trauma: Individual Therapy"
Associate professors of the Department of Psychology Kateryna Pylypenko and Tetyana Borodulkina, master’s students of the specialty “Psychology” Maria Malynets, Svitlana Goncharova, Sabina Thissen, as well as graduates of the department of different years underwent scientific and practical training in the course “Combat Trauma: Individual Therapy” for 11 weeks (February-April) and recently received their certificates.
The course was conducted by leading international experts – Dr. Russell Carr and Dr. Gaea Logan.
This course was dedicated to deepening the understanding of the specifics of working with military experience and complex traumatic conditions. The program combined the theoretical basis and practical tools of individual therapy, which are critically important for effective assistance to defenders in modern realities. It was aimed at developing the professional competencies of specialists working with the consequences of combat stress, and at developing effective methods of supporting mental health.
The training was supported by the International Center for Mental Health and Human Rights, the International Institute for the Study of Trauma, and the Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University.
