NADIYA 2026 Research Fellowship Program: grants for short-term scientific mobility in the field of engineering sciences for Ukrainian researchers (from 2 weeks to 3 months in a French research center or laboratory, September-December 2026)
The Short-Term Research Mobility Program is open to Ukrainian researchers who have decided to remain in Ukraine and continue their scientific activities despite the challenges caused by the war. It aims to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation between Ukraine, France and Europe.
Researchers in the following fields are invited to participate:
– Materials science and materials engineering: properties of materials and surfaces, nanotechnology, modern composite materials
– Biotechnology and bioengineering: applications in healthcare, agri-food, environmental sciences, bioengineering and bioprocesses
– Geosciences and environment: management of soil and mineral resources, pollution cleanup technologies, ecological restoration
– Sustainable energy development and energy transition: renewable energy, energy storage systems, optimization of energy consumption
– Agronomy and veterinary sciences: sustainable agriculture, management of agri-food resources, animal health, impact of environmental changes on agricultural ecosystems
– innovative technologies and promising civil engineering, with a special focus on aeronautics
– cybersecurity and civil nuclear research
– construction and civil engineering
Support for selected researchers includes:
– monthly stipend (1704 euros for young researchers and PhD students/2055 euros for confirmed researchers)
– assistance with accommodation
– coverage of round-trip travel costs
– health and travel insurance
Candidates must:
– be citizens of Ukraine, currently residing in Ukraine, and intend to return to Ukraine after the end of the short-term scientific mobility
– have a PhD or to study in postgraduate studies
– be actively involved in scientific activities in one of the specified areas within a Ukrainian academic or research institution
– be fluent in English and/or French (knowledge of French is desirable and will be an advantage, but is not a mandatory condition for participation)
Within the framework of the NADIYA short-term research mobility program, special attention will be paid to:
– joint scientific projects (projects developed by teams of researchers – from 2 to 4 people in a team); applications for coordinated or group mobility are particularly encouraged
– a convincing justification of the economic, social and/or environmental impact of research mobility on the resilience and reconstruction of Ukraine

Required documents:
– Scanned copy of passport
– CV in English or French
– Description of research project and expected results
– Invitation letter or email (if available) from a French laboratory or institution that can host you, indicating the exact dates of mobility
– Official document confirming the candidate’s current status in a Ukrainian scientific institution (postgraduate certificate or confirmation of employment/position at a university, academy, institute)

Program calendar:
– acceptance of applications from researchers and host institutions: until June 7
– announcement of results: expected June 22; Only selected candidates will be notified. Research mobilities: between September and December 2026. The duration of the mobility will be determined jointly by the researcher (or group of researchers), the host laboratory and the French Embassy in Ukraine.
