A student of Zaporizhia Polytechnic University is one of the U21 world champions in basketball among athletes with hearing impairments!
The U21 World Basketball Championship for athletes with hearing impairments ended in Lublin, Poland, where the Ukrainian women’s team won the gold medals of the world championship.
In the final match, the Ukrainian women confidently defeated the US team and became world champions:
Ukraine – USA 75 : 48
As part of the Ukrainian national team, the champion title was won by Kateryna Chernysh (UFKS–114), a student of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Management.
On the way to the gold medals, the Ukrainian team demonstrated a one hundred percent result, winning all matches of the tournament.
As a result, Kateryna Chernysh was included in the symbolic team of the tournament (Women’s All-Star Five).
We sincerely congratulate Kateryna and the Ukrainian women’s national team on winning the title of world champions! We are proud of our student, who, as part of the national team, glorifies Ukraine and NU “Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic” on the international sports arena.
