That is why the profession of a translator as a linguistic mediator acquires new meaning and opens up broad career prospects. A modern translator is a specialist who not only has a perfect command of the language, but also ensures mutual understanding between representatives of different cultures, helps to overcome language and cultural barriers and promotes successful international cooperation in science, business, education and other areas of life.
The educational and professional program «Germanic languages and literatures (including translation), the first one is English» is aimed at training highly qualified translators and philologists who possess modern language, translation and digital competencies and are ready to work in conditions of rapid development of information technologies.
The program involves studying two foreign languages: English and French/German. You will develop skills in oral and written speech, academic and professional writing, working with texts of various genres and effective intercultural communication. In addition, you will learn how to use translation transformations, master editing and post-editing techniques, modern CAT tools, and other digital solutions that are actively used in the professional activities of translators.
Teaching is carried out at the Faculty of Humanities under the leadership of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation. The educational process is provided by experienced teachers who combine scientific activity with translation practice, actively implement modern teaching methods and digital technologies. Students have the opportunity to participate in international projects, academic mobility programs, scientific conferences, professional trainings and undergo internships in companies and organizations cooperating with the university.

Graduates of the educational program can work as translators and interpreters, editors and post-editors of machine translation, software localizers, international project managers, content managers, as well as hold positions in international companies, translation agencies, international organizations, IT companies, the tourism industry and the field of international business.
