Zaporizhia Polytechnic University expands the horizons of cooperation at EAIE–2025
The next days of participation of the Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic in EAIE Conference & Exhibition 2025 (September 9-12, Gothenburg, Sweden) turned out to be no less rich and fruitful. Alina Kazurova, head of the Center for Internationalization and International Cooperation, held a series of meaningful meetings during which new perspectives for international cooperation were discussed.
It was very nice to talk again with Dr. Alexander Burdumy, director of the International Center of the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), and agree on the next steps of our cooperation and new opportunities for partnership development.
The meeting with Antti Kapanen, PhD, representative of the Technological Faculty of LAB University of Applied Sciences (Finland) was meaningful. The parties discussed academic mobility, double degrees, scientific cooperation and agreed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation. It should be noted separately that establishing relations and starting the development of cooperation both with LAB University of Applied Sciences and with Mid Sweden University. This was possible thanks to the support of the Zaporizhzhia City Development Institute, for which the university is sincerely grateful.
The meeting with representatives of the international department of Porto Polytechnic Institute (Portugal) was particularly pleasant. They mentioned the visits of our colleagues to the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto as part of academic mobility programs and expressed their readiness to continue welcoming participants from our university.
No less interesting was the conversation with representatives of the Lisbon Polytechnic Institute – Cristina Borges Azevedo, vice president for academic services, educational innovation, quality and Erasmus+, and Maria Carlos Mourato Annes, vice president for financial management and technical services. Mutual interest in the development of partnership relations was confirmed.
An important highlight of the program was the special session “Ukraine in Focus: Cooperation and Impact”, organized by the European Commission together with the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine. The participants discussed further support from the EU and Erasmus+ for Ukrainian universities, in particular in the implementation of projects that help to overcome the educational and social challenges of the war. During the conference, the documentary film “Academic Resilience Stories from Ukraine” dedicated to the strength and endurance of the Ukrainian academic community was also shown.
In addition, there were many meetings with representatives of universities and organizations from different countries of the world, which open new perspectives for educational and scientific initiatives.
EAIE–2025 in Gothenburg once again proves that international cooperation in the field of higher education is not formal documents, but real partnerships based on trust, shared values and the desire for development. For students and teachers of Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic, this means new opportunities, inspiration and space for ideas.
