Offline classes of the «Carousel of Directions» group of the Children’s and Youth Scientific University
On April 13, students of grades 6-7 took part in the offline class of the «Carousel of Directions» group of the Children’s and Youth Scientific University. The participants were treated to exciting lessons from the teachers of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation – Associate Professor Viktoriya Gorlachova and Associate Professor Yuri Polezhaev.
At the first class, the students were invited to watch episodes of popular films of modern cinema in the original language, which contributed to deepening their knowledge about the holidays celebrated in Canada, Great Britain and America. The students also repeated the names of film genres and talked about their favorite films.
In the second lesson, the group members went on a virtual journey and studied the history, customs and traditions of celebrating Easter in different countries of the world, shared unique family traditions of celebrating the Resurrection of Christ. They learned about the symbols of Easter in European countries. And all this in English!
During the break, the students visited the hospitable Department of Foreign Philology and Translation, where they had a snack and tasted a delicious Italian Easter cake «Panettone».
We are grateful to the students of the Children’s and Youth Scientific University for their active participation and interest, and to the teachers Viktoriya Gorlachova and Yurii Polezhaev for their initiative and creative approach.
We look forward to the next meetings!
