Futsal drive and crazy emotions: the rector’s team against the freshmen!
On October 23, the sports complex of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University turned into a real arena for sports battles! A traditional futsal match was held here, which both players and fans were waiting for: the team of rector Viktor Greshta and the team of freshmen met on the same court.
Excitement, speed, fighting for every ball, coordinated team actions and crazy support from the stands — the game kept the tension high and gave many bright moments! The freshmen, who passed the selection and demonstrated their football skills, worthily accepted the challenge of experienced opponents. But this time the rector’s team won with a score of 3:0! Congratulations to the winners and thank both teams for the spectacular game!
The teams were prepared by Yurii Zhuravlev, associate professor of the Department of Physical Culture, Olympic and Non-Olympic Sports, the coach of the rector’s team, and Yaroslav Yamkovoy, a laboratory assistant at this department. National category judge Oleksandr Gusev monitored compliance with the rules on the site.
A special atmosphere was created by the pupils of the children’s and youth sports school No. 4, department of aesthetic group gymnastics. Their performance added grace, rhythm and artistry to the event. The team’s trainers were Tetyana and Kateryna Dovgal. Among the participants was Veronika Myshakova, a student of the UFKS-415 group, winner of the university competition «Student Artist of the Year».
This day was also an opportunity to thank those who develop the university’s sports life and help implement joint initiatives. The head of the Department of Physical Culture, Olympic and Non-Olympic Sports, Alina Kubatko, and the dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Management, Svitlana Kokareva, were recognized for organizing the sports week.
For their support of sports and university-wide events, the Campus staff, led by Director Vadym Dubyna, the Primary Trade Union Organization of NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» led by Chairwoman Svitlana Karpenko, and the University Student Government, led by Chairwoman Anastasiia Steshenko, received thanks. Students who participated in the preparation and holding of the sports week, showing initiative, responsibility, and willingness to work in a team, were separately noted.
At the end of the match, the most active fan and the best players of both teams were determined. After all, on this day, not only the goals scored were worthy of attention, but also character, perseverance, support from friends and faith in your team!
Thank you to the players, coaches, judges, organizers, student organizations, volunteers, young gymnasts and their coaches, and, of course, the fans who filled the sports complex with energy and emotions!
Such meetings are much more than a game. They are a team spirit, new acquaintances, vivid impressions and a feeling that we are one big university family. Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic plays, cheers and wins together!
