Conference «Genius of the Ukrainian Nation»
On March 7, a conference was held at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University on the occasion of the 210th anniversary of the birth of the Ukrainian genius, national poet, talented artist, founder of the Ukrainian literary language Taras Shevchenko.
The opening speech was delivered by Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Studies and Ukrainian Literature Kateryna Bondarchuk.
The conference considered 4 thematic blocks of questions:
I. Unknown facts of Taras Shevchenko’s biography:

During the conference, participants were able to hear the real voice of Taras Shevchenko, reproduced by Ukrainian specialists, as well as an excerpt from his poetry performed by the author himself. In addition to bright, interesting presentations prepared by the conference participants, an excerpt from the feature film based on the play by T. Shevchenko «Nazar Stodolya» was shown.
All teachers of the philological section of the Department of Ukrainian Studies and ZMP took part in the conference: Kateryna Bondarchuk, Tetyana Bilenko, Iryna Voroniuk, Tetyana Katysh, Lina Myronyuk, Halyna Onufrienko.
The exhibition of editions of Shevchenko’s works from different years «Love Your Ukraine» was prepared by the scientific library of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, which was introduced to the attendees by the head of the sector Nataliia Fedko. The best poems by Taras Shevchenko were also performed by university students (also prepared by Nataliia Fedko).
