On November 28, the rector of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Viktor Hreshta and the head of the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of the Hulyaipil City Council Viktor Naumenko signed a cooperation agreement. The new stage of the partnership opens up new opportunities for interaction in the educational, scientific and socio-cultural spheres.

Cooperation is aimed at developing quality education, strengthening human resources, creating conditions for the professional development of young people, and implementing joint initiatives.

Main areas of cooperation:
– participation in joint research projects, creation of temporary scientific groups and laboratories
– implementation of dual education programs and ensuring conditions for acquiring practical competencies by higher education applicants
– organization of educational and methodological interaction, exchange of materials and implementation of innovative educational technologies
– promotion of internships, practical training and employment of Polytechnic students
– implementation of joint projects in the field of education, youth policy, culture, sports and meaningful leisure.

Signing the Agreement is a step towards deepening interaction between the educational institution and the community, which will contribute to the professional development of young people and the implementation of modern educational practices.

On December 3, on the basis of the Education Hub of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, a solemn event «The Feast of Unity: the strength of Dniprorudny, the hope of Zaporizhzhia» was held, organized by the Dniprorudny City Military Administration. The event became significant for the entire community, which, despite the challenges of the war and the temporary occupation of the native city, continues to demonstrate unity, indomitability and faith in the future.

Participants of the holiday were greeted by the head of the Dnipro-Rudnen city military administration, Anton Kozyrev, who also awarded competition winners and community activists. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Head of the Vasylivska District State Administration Yana Volyk, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the ZODA Olena Kazannikova, Andriy Mymryk, Deputy Director of the Don ZODA, as well as representatives of the district administration, juvenile police, public activists and athletes of the ZpGroup futsal club.

Pro-Rector Andriy Ivanchenko of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic congratulated the participants of the event. He expressed his sincere admiration for the resilience and strength of spirit of the community’s residents.

After the ceremonial part, the guests participated in the opening of a new educational space – a safe, modern and fully equipped educational space in the main building of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic, where from now on the children of the Dniprorudna community will be able to study. This is another important step towards restoring the educational environment for those who were forced to leave their hometown due to the war.

The creation of this space was made possible thanks to strong international, regional and local support. The initiator of the project was the Dnipro-Rudnen city military administration. Within the framework of international cooperation, the non-profit organization «Krayany» (Japan), the association «Friendly Circle of Ukraine Bad-Oldesloe» (Germany), and the charitable foundation «UA FRI» joined the implementation. Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University became an extremely important partner, providing premises and comprehensively supporting the initiative.

As part of the event for the children and youth of the community, a bright festive program was held for all age groups: the youngest joyfully welcomed St. Mykola, students of grades 5-8 competed in fun sports relays, and high school students took part in the Marathon in gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the end of November 2025, the international conference Horizon4Poland’25 was held at the Museum of the History of Poland in Warsaw – a key event for representatives of science and business who seek to implement joint research projects within the framework of the «Horizon Europe» program.

The honorary organizer of the event was the Representation of the European Commission in Poland, and the organizer was the National Contact Point of EU Research Programs at the National Research and Development Center of Poland.

Zaporizka Polytechnic University was represented by the head of the National Contact Point Professor Dmytro Pavlenko and leading specialist Myroslava Shchedinina.

Participation in the conference was an important step for the development of international scientific cooperation of the university. The main tasks of the visit were:
– presentation of the scientific activities of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University to the international community
– search for partners for the implementation of joint research projects within the framework of the «Horizon Europe» program
– presentation of the innovative project «BIO-SWITCH» — development of biodegradable magnesium implants with a controlled degradation rate

The conference brought together more than 500 participants from various European countries. The program included strategic debates on the future of research funding, discussion panels on successful projects and effective technology transfer, as well as specialized partner-finding sessions and presentation events.

Representatives of NU «Zaporizka Polytechnic» took part in thematic sessions, in particular in the information session on partnership competitions, where the possibilities of participation in European research partnerships were discussed.

Participation in Horizon4Poland’25 opens up new perspectives for international scientific cooperation of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University and involvement in prestigious European research programs!

On November 25-26, representatives of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University – professor of the Department of Management and Administration Nadiya Shmygol and associate professor of this department Andriy Kuts – took part in a working meeting held at the East Bavarian Technical University Amberg-Weiden (OTH Amberg-Weiden, Germany).

The event is organized within the framework of the German-Ukrainian TANDEM UA–DE project, aimed at supporting the modernization of the higher education system of Ukraine and expanding international cooperation. Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University is an official partner in the grant agreement concluded between OTH Amberg-Weiden and Ukrainian universities, which confirms the strategic role of our institution in the formation of joint European educational programs.

The main goal of the meeting was to continue work on the creation of an interdisciplinary Double (parallel) Degree bachelor’s program in digital technologies and management. During the sessions, the participants discussed the structure of the future program, compared the educational modules, determined their equivalence, and agreed on further stages of development. Representatives of OTH Amberg-Weiden, KPI named after Ihor Sikorskyi, Lutsk National Technical University and specialists of the quality and international cooperation units of the university.

The following issues were discussed:
– the international strategy of OTH Amberg-Weiden and the experience of implementing double degree programs
– examples of successful international programs, in particular cooperation with the University of West Bohemia
– quality assurance requirements, accreditation procedures and standards
– updating the status of the implementation of the TANDEM UA–DE project and agreeing on further steps
– the structure and content of the modules of the joint double degree program
– the evaluation of learning outcomes in online courses, including proctoring and quality indicators

Nadia Shmygol and Andrii Kuts presented the work of the university, in particular proposals for the integration of academic disciplines into a joint program. During the discussions, the preliminary structure of the modules covering digital technologies, management, innovation, intercultural communication, elements of practical training and the system of evaluation of educational results was agreed upon.

The TANDEM UA–DE project, financed by the DAAD, provides for the creation of a permanent German-Ukrainian university network, the development of 20 joint educational modules, the formation of an English-language double degree program, the development of a network of graduates and the upgrading of the qualifications of administrative personnel. Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic’s participation in this project will contribute to the university’s integration into the European educational space and will open up additional opportunities for students and teachers.

According to the results of the meeting, the parties determined a plan for further actions, which includes the finalization of study plans, the detailing of modules, the coordination of procedures for the recognition of learning results and the formation of a system for ensuring quality and academic integrity.

On December 1, a large truck with material and technical assistance from our long-standing and reliable partners – the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences and the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden (OTH Amberg-Weiden), as well as the non-profit humanitarian organization Space-Eye, arrived at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University. Numerous German companies also joined the collection, showing extraordinary generosity, humanity and willingness to support our university in an extremely difficult time.

This initiative was made possible thanks to the personal contribution of the heads of both universities — Rector, Professor Dr. Stephan Trahasch (Offenburg University of Applied Sciences) and President, Professor Dr. Clemens Bulitta (OTH Amberg-Weiden). It was they who initiated large-scale gatherings, contacted partner organizations and companies, coordinated processes and took the situation under their own care. We express our special and most sincere thanks to them for their personal involvement, care and support of our academic community.

Within the joint work of universities, Space-Eye and donor companies, a significant amount of aid was collected: computer and network equipment, furniture, household appliances, textiles, warm clothes, medical supplies, various equipment to ensure the work of classrooms, laboratories and dormitories. The Space-Eye organization, in addition to the collection, processing and logistics of all the cargo, also handed over important equipment to ensure the autonomy of the university — a powerful generator, which will significantly increase the stability of the work of certain units of the university in conditions of possible power outages.

All received property will be a critical support in the restoration of the university’s damaged infrastructure, and will also help to provide proper conditions to those whom we receive and support: displaced persons, students and teachers of relocated educational institutions, schools that are temporarily located on our territory.

We especially appreciate the humanity and solidarity shown by our international partners. At a time when the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic is experiencing the consequences of destruction from missile and drone attacks, such assistance is not just material support, it is proof that the world academic community is united in the values ​​of humanity, freedom, mutual aid and preservation of education even in the most difficult circumstances.

This initiative is a clear confirmation: there is much more good in the world than evil, and it is thanks to such people and institutions that we have faith in the future, the strength to continue working and developing, educating and supporting everyone who needs it.

We also express our sincere thanks to the staff and students of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic, who actively helped in coordination, unloading of cargo and organization of all accompanying works. Your solidarity, willingness to act and responsibility became an important part of the successful completion of this humanitarian mission.

The «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» National University once again provides scientific and pedagogical workers, employees and students with access to the «Reallyenglish» electronic platform for learning English as part of the «English4Ukraine» project.

This opportunity is realized thanks to cooperation with Mariupol State University, which implements the «English4Ukraine» project with the support of a British charitable foundation.

Classes on the platform provide an opportunity to develop speaking, listening, writing skills and expand vocabulary.

Courses: English for general orientation, English for academic orientation, English for business communication, English for professional orientation (English for Hospitality, English for Cabin Crew, English for Nursing), preparation for IELTS, TOEIC and TOEFL exams. Also, a new course «Military Vocabulary» has been added to the platform.

Courses are adaptive: at the beginning, users pass a diagnostic test, based on the results of which the platform selects lessons, also during training, the platform can offer to complicate tasks if users quickly and successfully pass the course.

The range of course levels: A0–C2. The specified level is indicative, because users are signed up as a package for several available levels.

Subscription is granted for one course at a time, and after completing one course, the user can be added to subsequent lists to gain access to another course.

A single deadline for all courses on the platform has been set — June 30, 2026. The term of access is fixed and cannot be extended.

After successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate:
– the certificate is generated automatically when the required number of lessons are completed on the first attempt
– re-taking the lessons is not counted towards obtaining the certificate

On November 25-26, the 4th All-Ukrainian scientific and practical Internet conference with international participation «Modern health fitness as an innovative form of organization of the educational process of students of higher education» dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the university was held at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University. The event was held in an online format and brought together representatives of 15 leading institutions of higher education in Ukraine, Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic.

The plenary session began with the welcoming words of Viktor Greshta, rector of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, as well as international partners – rector of the Kazakh National University of Sports Tursynzada Kuangaliyeva, representative of the University of Ostrava (Czech Republic) Mariya Gladish, scientists of the Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko, the National Shipbuilding University and the Ukrainian State University named after Drahomanova. In their addresses, they emphasized the importance of health fitness, recreation and innovative educational practices in the modern system of higher education.

During the plenary session, in-depth scientific reports were presented, dedicated to:
– means of controlling the technical and tactical preparedness of taekwondo players based on modeling the conditions of competitive activity
– topical issues of physical training of boxers at the stage of specialized basic training
– 25-year experience of professional and Olympic education at the National Shipbuilding University
– use of expert systems in sports the selection of children in aerobic gymnastics
– pedagogical technologies for ensuring the stability of competitive activity in highly qualified sports aerobics athletes
– the role of fitness as a tool of psychophysical protection in war conditions
– modern approaches to the use of cryo- and thermotherapy for minor sports injuries
– historical, cultural and methodical features of Kazakh national Kures wrestling

Among the speakers were students of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, who presented the results of their own research in the field of fitness technologies, sports training and innovative means of health improvement.

We thank all the participants, speakers, partners and the organizing committee for their active participation, meaningful discussions and joint work for the development of health fitness, physical culture and sports. We continue to move forward, introducing innovative approaches to the educational process and strengthening international scientific cooperation!

This autumn Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic brought together employers and students, experts from the university and future applicants, experienced entrepreneurs and managers. All so that everyone can build a successful career!

The forum began with a presentation of the university, which was conducted by the dean of the Faculty of Information Security and Electronic Communications Nataliya Furmanova. She presented various areas of development of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic: scientific research, new innovative spaces, international academic mobility and dual education.

Ludmila Sirko, specialist in attracting grants and coordinator of grant projects for entrepreneurs, spoke first in the main part. She told how to go from an idea to a financed business project even in front-line Zaporizhzhia!

The next speaker, Yehor Kochnev, is a veteran, the founder of the company «Lizmark» that manufactures lifts for people with reduced mobility. He presented his business and shared the secrets of its development, which will be useful to every entrepreneur.

During the Career Forum, various locations were constantly functioning:
– employers offered students internships and vacancies
– representatives of faculties and the Polytechnic Admissions Committee were always open to communication with schoolchildren and college students
– interesting raffles were held at the location of the student government and a fun atmosphere prevailed

And at the end – a large-scale drawing of prizes for everyone!

On November 25, students and teachers of the Faculty of Social Sciences became participants in the final round table of the international project «Together We Can» of the Program of Expanding Opportunities for Public Leaders in Ukraine, which was carried out from February 1 to November 30, 2025 by the NGO «Social Interaction», NU «Zaporizka Polytechnic» in cooperation with the NGO «Human Rights Foundation» with the support of the Institute of External Cultural Relations (IFA) with the funds of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The results of the implementation of the project in the Zaporizhzhia region were summed up: students participated in a round table, 5 training schools in Kyiv and the summer camp «Agenda »Youth. Peace. Security« in Ukraine».

They also became participants in 3 trainings in Zaporizhzhia: «Media literacy for journalists and bloggers:
– 5 steps to a high level of media culture» (April 22)
– «Gender as a mainstream. Gender and inclusion» (May 15)
– «Emotional intelligence: the key to a culture of dialogue and effective conflict resolution» (May 27).

And also took part in the blog cafe:
– «A female military and a female veteran in the focus of the media» (June 4)
– «Creating a life in the Ukrainian realities of 2022–2025.» (August 20)
– «Methods of actualizing life-creating resources of people affected by the war» (August 24)
– «Motivation and self-motivation as the main influencing factors for goal achievement» (September 11)
– «Non-discrimination and human rights» (September 12)
– «Displaced women: should there be only happy media stories?» (September 15)
– «Institutionalization of youth organizations» (October 8)
– «Gender equality: reality and challenges» (October 9)

2 blog cafes were organized for the youth of the Kushugum community: «Youth space of the Kushugum community: how to create an environment where young people are heard and where they can realize their potential» (June 18), «Volunteering as the basis of community development» (August 6). 

Within the scope of the project, 2 forum-performances were held using the method of the Forum-theater «For everyone, but not for themselves…» for residents of Shirokivska rural territorial community and Vodyna territorial community.

Project participants created 73 posts on the www.mustpost.online platform. Bloggers covered important events for Ukraine and the Zaporizhzhia region, the problems of «people and war», volunteering, youth leadership, social protection, gender equality, diversity and inclusion, many publications were devoted to the course of the project.

During the round table, 5 female ambassadors presented the results of the implementation of mini-projects: «Creating life in times of war», «Youth leadership in action», «Women’s destinies changed by war: »what« they say and »how« the media show», «Equality in action», «Youth changing the world: from idea to action in Kushugumsk community».

The project’s activities became an impetus for drawing public attention to the problems: ensuring political, social and economic participation of young people in all social processes; ensuring the fulfillment in Ukraine of the terms of Resolutions 1325, 2250 of the UN Security Council; development of civic activity of youth, their participation in the life of the city and the country in general, actualization of local problematic social issues at the level of the Zaporizhzhia community.

On November 18, Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University held a forum «Skills of the Future 2025» in a mixed format. The event was part of the events dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the university and brought together representatives of educational institutions, experts, employers, and education seekers.

The forum was dedicated to discussing trends in the development of competencies that will determine professional success in the coming years. Participants focused on key topics important for the educational community and the labor market of Ukraine.

During their speeches, the speakers outlined key challenges of the labor market, current areas of competence development, the role of universities in the formation of professional qualifications, and the importance of integrating international experience. The plenary session set the strategic tone for the entire forum, becoming a platform for professional dialogue and the formation of a common vision for the development of future skills in Ukraine.

The panel discussion provided a space for open dialogue between representatives of the university, employers, vocational education and industry. Participants discussed how an updated system of professional qualifications can meet the current challenges of the labor market and the needs of the society of the future.

The participants jointly outlined a vision of the future of the vocational education system, focusing on the need for flexible, adaptive and modern approaches to the formation of qualifications. The discussion touched on key issues: the role of the new law «On Vocational Education», the readiness of educational institutions to assign professional qualifications, the expected competencies of the future, digitalization and the impact of artificial intelligence on the training of specialists, as well as the formation of partnerships between business and education. The panel discussion became an important part of the forum, as it allowed to unite different sectors – education, industry and state institutions – to develop common approaches to the development of human capital and the creation of a national ecosystem of qualifications that meets the requirements of the new knowledge economy.

Valeriy Naumyk, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Activities of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, became a member of the Expert Commission for Evaluating the Effectiveness of the Physical and Technological Institute of Metals and Alloys of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for the period 2018–2024.

Participation of the Vice-Rector of the Polytechnic Institute in the commission is in accordance with the order of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine dated 09.12.2024 No. 694 «On assessing the effectiveness of the activities of scientific institutions of the NAS of Ukraine in 2025» and in accordance with the decision of the Standing Commission on Scientific Areas at the Section of Physical, Technical and Mathematical Sciences of the NAS of Ukraine (Minutes No. 1 dated 02.21.2025).

During the assessment visit on November 12–13, the commission examined in detail the staffing, main areas of research, significant achievements, cooperation with the international professional community, and other aspects of the activities of the Institute’s scientific departments. The commission also examined and assessed the Institute’s existing scientific and technical research base and the effectiveness of its use.

Thus, the Physics and Technology Institute of Metals and Alloys of the NAS of Ukraine is recognized as a unique research institution that occupies leading positions in the field of foundry production and metallurgy, has significant scientific fundamental and applied results of its activities, recognized at the international and national levels. The institute can be classified as category «A».
