Meeting with a representative of FANUC – Mykhailo Kinebas

On January 18, the rector of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University met with Mykhailo Kinebas – head of the robotics department of FANUC Ukraine, a subsidiary of FANUC Corporation.

FANUC Corporation is a world leader in the production of robots and CNC machines. By 2022, more than 680,000 robots and more than 5,000,000 CNCs will be installed in the world.

During the meeting, an agreement was signed to create the first FANUC robot programming training laboratory in Ukraine based on Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.

The joint laboratory, which will be equipped with licensed FANUC ROBOGUIDE software, will allow for modern training in programming FANUC industrial robots.

ROBOGUIDE is an intelligent software solution for 3D programming of FANUC robots, which provides simulation of robot motion, creation of control programs for robotic complexes and visualization of the technological process.

Thanks to the built-in library, the user has full access to all FANUC robots and intelligent options.

The robot modeling and configuration functions include a full verification package for checking the time collision detection and prevention cycle for welding, painting, palletizing, loading/unloading parts from machine tools, etc.

FANUC Ukraine conducted training in basic programming of industrial robots for the university’s scientific and pedagogical staff. The software is primarily planned for use in educational programs of specialty 131 Applied Mechanics.

Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University is the first and only higher education institution in Ukraine with which FANUC is interested in practical cooperation and has already invested in the development of its scientific, technical and educational potential.

Among the promising areas of further cooperation, the possible participation of students of NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» in the WorldSkills global movement was discussed, the global partner of which in robotics is FANUC Corporation.
