Meeting with the delegation of the European Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees

On November 29, a meeting was held with the delegation of the European Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, led by Philippe Leclercq. The delegation also included Chief Operations Coordinator Filippo Rossi, UNHCR Representative in Ukraine Carolina Lynholm Billing, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine, namely the embassies of Canada, Switzerland and France, who arrived on a monitoring visit. The meeting took place at the temporary residence of internally displaced persons on the basis of dormitory No. 3 of the student campus of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.

The distinguished guests talked with the residents, the administration of the dormitory and the university, representatives of public organizations and foundations, examined the results of their joint work to improve living conditions in the dormitory, heard words of gratitude and suggestions for further work.

The Vice-Rector of the University, Andriy Ivanchenko, thanked the high-level delegation for the visit to Zaporizhzhia and our dormitory, which was able to clearly witness the large number of internally displaced persons living in Zaporizhzhia, hear about their needs, problems and learn about certain results of work to solve them.

We hope for further cooperation in working with internally displaced persons.
