Meeting of the university management with the best engine engineering students – practical steps in the development of dual education
Despite the war, our university continues to train highly qualified personnel for aviation enterprises in our region.
Last week, the management of the State Enterprise «Ivchenko-Progress» addressed the university with a request to employ our best students studying in specialty 134 «Aviation and rocket and space technology» for the positions of design engineer and technologist. The peculiarity of this proposal is that 3rd and 4th year students who are still actively continuing their studies will be employed.
During the meeting between the rector of the university, Viktor Greshta, the dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Vasyl Hlushko, and the head of the Department of Aircraft Engine Technology, Dmytro Pavlenko, and the best students, many issues regarding the proposal were discussed. The students asked many questions regarding the features of dual-track training. They will take part in the competitive selection.
This approach will allow them not only to acquire valuable practical skills in the design and production of aircraft engines at the training stage, but also to have a decent salary while continuing their studies and receiving a scholarship.
The dual-track education requires a significant change in both the training schedule and approaches to its provision. We hope that the staff of the Department of Aircraft Engine Technology will cope with new tasks, which will ensure an increase in the attractiveness of the university among future students and employers!
