Mini-football competition for the Rector’s Cup
On June 22, the «Rector’s Cup in Mini-football» was held in the sports complex of the NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic», organized on the initiative and with the assistance of the student trade union committee, student self-government and the department of physical education, Olympic and non-Olympic sports.
The competition was attended by 6 teams, consisting of students from different faculties of the university and the Zaporizhzhia Professional College of Computer Technologies.
At the beginning of the event, the rector of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic Viktor Greshta greeted the participants. He wished the teams a pleasant game, and also emphasized that the university is doing everything possible to ensure that students have the opportunity to experience the mood of student leisure even in modern circumstances.
The mini-football cup became a kind of selection for the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic national team. For this purpose, a close friend of our university, Morgunov Oleksandr, an experienced football and futsal player, was invited.
The head of the Zaporizhzhia regional branch of the Committee on Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science, Yurii Shepel, also joined the congratulations and wished strength and encouragement for further preparation for the All-Ukrainian Universiade.
The girls from the junior aerobics team under the leadership of coach Oleksandra Plahotnikova prepared a bright number to increase the fighting spirit of the participants.
The game took place in 2 rounds. In the first, the teams competed for relegation, and in the second, for victory. As a result of a serious struggle, the Dream Team team took 1st place, the Nyva team took 2nd place, and the Zirka team took 3rd place.
At the solemn award ceremony, the winners were congratulated and awarded with medals, diplomas and sweet prizes by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Socio-Economic Development and Youth Policy Andriy Ivanchenko, Head of the Department of Physical Culture, Olympic and Non-Olympic Sports Svitlana Atamanyuk, Acting Head of the Student Trade Union Committee Maryna Zinchenko and Head of the Student Government Mariia Pavlenko.
