Meeting of the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Zaporizhzhia Region

On April 6, a regular meeting of the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Zaporizhzhia Region was held.

At the meeting of the Council of Rectors, the Admission Procedure for 2023 was discussed and a number of problematic issues were identified. Chairman of the Council of Rectors, Hreshta V.L., emphasized the need to create a consolidated position on the importance of creating special conditions for admission to universities located in regions where active hostilities are taking place.

Acting Mayor of Zaporizhzhia, Secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, Anatoliy Kurtiev, supported the proposals for improving the Admission Rules. Our main task today is to think about how to return children to Ukraine, to their native Zaporizhzhia. Therefore, it is very important today to create favorable conditions for admission, to support students from the occupied territories.

Acting Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration Viktor Zakharchuk also supported the proposals made. Special conditions for admission to higher education institutions in our region are a very important issue. Last year’s experience has shown that by joining forces we can overcome any challenges.

Based on the results of the discussion of these issues, it was proposed to formulate proposals for improving the Admission Procedure in 2023. The generalized proposals should be sent to the Union of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The meeting also discussed the need to develop our region, to provide employees of Zaporizhzhia enterprises with the opportunity to obtain higher education or a second higher education. The university is ready to provide assistance at every stage of the admission campaign. Today, it is very important that our people remain in their native region, work at Zaporizhzhia enterprises.

Another important issue that was raised during the meeting of the Council of Rectors is improving the conditions for pre-military and military training. The Department of Military Training of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic has the necessary material and technical base and personnel potential. Current realities prove the need for a fundamental change in the approaches to pre-military and special military training of citizens of Ukraine, increasing the general readiness of all members of society to possible military challenges, noted the head of the Department of Military Training, Kostiantyn Alyokhin, during his speech.
