Cyber Security Course from Cardiff University
As part of international cooperation, on November 11, a cycle of classes on cyber security from Cardiff University (Great Britain) for students of the «Carousel of directions» circle of the Children’s and Youth Scientific University of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic began.
The first lesson of this course is devoted to the basic concepts of computational thinking. Children learned to break down complex problems into small tasks and develop algorithms to solve them; apply this technique to real-world scenarios. Real pirates and treasure chests were involved in the development of the programs in Skratch. Schoolchildren were active, quickly completed interesting tasks, demonstrated their knowledge and skills in developing algorithms and writing programs.
We are sincerely grateful to Iryna Bernyk, a postgraduate student in cyber security at the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics of Cardiff University, for her initiative and creative approach, and to all the children for their active participation and interest. International cooperation between the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic and Cardiff University opens up many opportunities for Zaporizhzhia schoolchildren to gain new knowledge!
