Lessons on energy and electricity for students of the «Carousel of Directions» group
On Saturday, December 23, an online lesson of the «Carousel of Directions» group of the Children and Youth Scientific University of the National University of Ukraine «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» took place.
The first lesson was on the topic: «History of Electricity». The lesson was dedicated to the Day of Energy Workers – December 22. Students got acquainted with the history of the emergence of electricity using examples from their native land. The development of scientific and technological progress and the challenges faced by modern man were considered. The lesson was held in the form of an interactive activity, during which a journey was made in time through important moments in the history of the development of electricity in our country, and they also traveled around the country, studying significant events.
The second lesson was on the topic: «Energy of the Elements in a Car». During the lesson, the students learned that the elements of fire, air, water and earth are used in various systems, components and assemblies of the car. Thus, in the middle of the engine cylinders, the element of fire reigns, which arises due to 1 part of gasoline, 15 parts of air and a spark discharge of 30,000 V. The elements of air and water activate various systems and mechanisms of the car, such as brakes, suspension and the lifting mechanism of the truck body and many others. And without the energy of the earth, it is difficult to imagine the very existence of a car. Starting with the fact that oil is extracted from the depths of the earth, from which fuel for the car, lubricants, paints, varnishes, rubber and much more are made. And also from the depths of the earth, minerals are extracted, from which all the metal parts of the car are made. And finally, without the wheels having grip on the ground (road), the car will not be able to move and take us where we need to go.
We are grateful for the initiative and creative approach of the teachers of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic Institute Svitlana Lapkina, Andriy Shcherbyna, Vadym Kubich, and all the children for their active participation and interest.
We look forward to the next meetings in the new year 2024!
