Resumption of distance learning
Dear colleagues, students of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University and its colleges! Almost a month has passed since the introduction of martial law, and subsequently the holidays. The spring semester is in full swing, the graduation of 4th year students, entrance exams are ahead, and although the situation in the country remains quite tense today, Zaporizhzhia is protected, and the university and colleges have everything necessary to ensure the educational process. That is why the leadership of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University decided to start studies on March 28.
Given the circumstances, the primary task of the university administration is to ensure a flexible approach to the schedule of classes, taking into account the current situation in the city and the availability of access to distance learning tools. Current knowledge control will be carried out taking into account the results of informal education in accordance with the Order of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University dated March 15, 2022 No. 70.
Students who, for objective reasons, are unable to join online classes may contact the dean’s offices with a request to provide training on an individual schedule. Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic will create all conditions and will provide an individual approach to the learning conditions of each of its students with the most flexible class schedule and the possibility of transferring the study of individual academic disciplines to the next semester (academic year) with the appropriate redistribution of credits. The university will introduce a moratorium on expelling students for failure to complete the curriculum until August 31, 2022.
The decision to grant academic leave will be made only in cases where it is impossible to organize students’ access to educational platforms and communication with teachers via mobile communication. To do this, it will be necessary to send a photocopy of the application, and in the absence of such an opportunity, to notify the dean of the faculty via mobile communication. The university rectorate will take all necessary measures to preserve the budget place for the student.
Also, within the framework of internal academic mobility, students of universities that were damaged or destroyed as a result of military actions will be able to join classes at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.
In these difficult times, we must continue to study and teach, because the country needs educated and conscious citizens, skilled engineers and highly qualified specialists. It is you, today’s students, who will build the future of Ukraine, so we urge you to take full responsibility for your main calling today – education – and with even greater inspiration to master the secrets of your future profession. Everything will be Ukraine!
