Training «Domestic assistance in conditions of hostilities/martial law»
Knowledge and skills that save lives. This is how you can characterize the training that students of our university took on December 9.
«Pre-medical assistance in conditions of hostilities/martial law» for young people was conducted by instructors of the All-Ukrainian Council of Reanimation (Resuscitation) and Emergency Medical Aid.
Boys and girls got acquainted with such concepts as massive external bleeding, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automatic external defibrillator, etc.
The training program is maximally balanced: the optimal amount of necessary theory and enough time for practice.
During the practical exercises, the students learned to stop the bleeding by applying direct pressure on the wound, applying a compression bandage and using various types of tourniquets. In particular, CAT and SWAT-T. Young men and women were also offered to «live through» quite realistic scenarios: rescuing an unconscious person, transferring him to a stable lateral position, evacuating the victim to a safer place.
In addition, students performed chest compressions on special simulation mannequins that allow tracking the depth and frequency of compressions.
All trainings for our youth were free thanks to the project implemented with the support of the «Ukrainian Rapid Response Fund» program (https://www.facebook.com/UkraineRapidResponseFund), embodied by IREX with the support of the US State Department.
