Students of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic visited the Parliament of Wales
The international activities of our university contribute not only to the development of scientific and research work, but also to the education of our students as active citizens. The restoration and development of Ukraine are possible only if conscious and modern Ukrainian youth are involved, who will implement democratic and ecological principles in various spheres of their lives and activities.
The Parliament of Wales (Senedd) demonstrates the implementation of these principles in everyday life, an acquaintance with which was initiated by teachers of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic during the visit of our students to Cardiff University.
During the tour, visitors were impressed by the design of the building and the deep philosophical meaning that the architect put into it. The parliament building symbolizes democracy, transparent and open to all citizens of Wales who have ideas for improving their lives. Only local natural materials or those produced in the region were used for construction and decoration. Glass parts of the roof and walls let in natural light, and the windows are automatically adjusted to create a comfortable atmosphere. There is a play area for children, meetings are held with schoolchildren to foster a caring attitude towards the region’s resources, social awareness, responsibility and initiative of young Welsh people.
These ideas aroused keen interest among our students and inspired them to new projects.
