Stream for STEAM: Girls’ Internship Program
On December 16, Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University was visited by guests from the Zaporizhzhia Regional Youth Center of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Council as part of the «Stream for STEAM: Girls’ Internship Program» project.
This project is implemented by the NGO «Youth Online» with the assistance of the UNDP in Ukraine within the framework of the project «EU4Recovery – empowerment of communities in Ukraine» with the financial support of the European Union. The program provides internships for twelve girls aged 16 to 22 in five areas: science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.
Involvement of girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) is an important step in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations.
For Ukraine, this is of great strategic importance, as it allows to provide opportunities for career self-realization, develop expertise and prevent the loss of qualified personnel from the country.
For the girls, an excursion to the Noosphere Engineering School was held, 3D modeling projects were presented, and an Arduino programming master class was held.
