Joint work of charitable foundations and organizations with employees of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University

Martial law, hot weather and the summer vacation period do not stop the intensive joint work of charitable foundations and organizations with employees of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University on the arrangement of university dormitories, preparation for the new academic year and the difficult heating season.

Yes, employees of the university campus together with benefactors are actively working on creating new, more comfortable places to live in the university dormitories, which currently house about 750 internally displaced persons, including 120 children, in the summer of 2023 in student dormitory No. 5, thanks to fruitful cooperation with the public organization «Proliska», the charitable organization «Charity Fund Stabilization Support Services and the International Organization for Migration have already completed the installation of 57 plastic windows, balcony blocks and doors.

Thanks to the assistance provided, 37 new beds with orthopedic mattresses, 36 bedside tables, 16 wardrobes, 23 tables, 34 stools and chairs were installed in the rooms of dormitory No. 5. New ironing boards, refrigerators. Bed linen sets were also provided free of charge for the needs of the displaced.

Electricians, plumbers, and carpenters of the dormitory received tool kits and consumables (screwdrivers, perforators, jigsaws, grinders, soldering irons, pipe cutters, sets of hand tools for electricians and plumbers, safety glasses, extension cords, drills, screws, clamps, cutting wheels, drills, jigsaw saws, trimmer line, lubricant).

The dormitory has an information space room from the NGO »Proliska” with laptops, tablets, multifunctional copiers, and a Wi-Fi router for collective use.

Residents of the dormitory, the staff and the university administration express their gratitude for the charitable assistance provided, which will improve living conditions.
