Startup School: final presentations of school students’ projects

On March 25, the final presentations of projects by students of the Startup School from the Children and Youth Scientific University “Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic” took place, which was launched for the first time this year to prepare young businessmen and businesswomen to participate in the traditional competition from our university “STARTUP with Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic”.

The finalists were congratulated by the rector Viktor Greshta and the director of the DYUNU, Olena Nazarova. They wished the students that their ideas would turn into successful startups that would benefit society and bring profit to the owners.

The participants presented their business ideas to the esteemed jury:

• Serhiy Ilchenko — Acting Head of the District Administration of the Zaporizhia City Council for the Khortytskyi District, Deputy of the Zaporizhia City Council
• Oleg Nalyvayko — Head of the Youth Affairs Department of JSC “Motor Sich»
• Valeria Butkevych — Acting Head of the Laboratory of the Center for Testing and Certification of Products of the Zaporizhstal Combine
• Andriy Kuts — Vice President of the Zaporizhzhia Chamber of Commerce and Industry
• Anastasia Zerkal — Director of the Education for Business and Career Training Center of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University
• Andriy Karpenko — Director of the Zaporizhzhia Cluster “Engineering — Automation — Mechanical Engineering”
• Snizhana Vychuzhanina — Head of the Department of Student Research of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University

The finalists were supported by principals and teachers of gymnasiums, lyceums, colleges, extracurricular institutions, leaders of student self-government, parents and friends.

All projects were awarded certificates in certain nominations, souvenirs from Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic and JSC “Motor Sich”.

The jury recommended submitting the best projects to the general competition “STARTUP with Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic”:

1st place — Timofiy Tatarchuk  Olexandr Abramkin: project “Project ReSource” — computer strategy game — Zaporizhzhia Academic Lyceum “Perspektiva”

2nd place — Mark Kovalenko (Zaporizhzhya Gymnasium No. 89) and Grigoriy Botvinov (Zaporizhzhya Gymnasium No. 71): project “FitHome — AI-platform for personalized training”

3rd place — Zakhar Litvinenko (Zaporizhzhya Gymnasium No. 100): project “AirSunBoost — a device for managing excess energy in solar power plants”; he was also awarded a separate gift from Motor Sich JSC for a prototype of the device, which is already working in test mode at a Ternopil enterprise.

4th place—Kira Bezverkha (Zaporizhzhya Gymnasium No. 106) — a project about designer embroidered shirts «Wyshy&Forma»

The winners received their first financial reward fromSerhiy Ilchenko.
