Seminar «Communication with military personnel in the family and outside it»
On May 31, a seminar «Communication with military personnel in the family and outside it» was held at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University.
The speakers of the event were members of the NGO «ATLANT: Zaporizhzhia Support Center» (a network of mobile psychological support groups throughout Ukraine).
Main topics of discussion:
- manifestations of trauma and stress in veterans and persons who were in the zone of active hostilities. Domestic assistance for people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression.
- specifics of communication with people who have had traumatic experiences.
- aspects related to relationships within a family that has a member who was in a combat zone, including sources of resources for providing support.
The seminar was organized by the student trade union and the Department of Social Work and Psychology of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.
