President of the Hockey Federation of Ukraine Georgy Zubko at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic
On November 30, the President of the Hockey Federation of Ukraine Georgy Zubko visited Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic. Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic was represented at this meeting by the Vice-Rector of the University Andriy Ivanchenko.
As is known, Ukrainian hockey is currently going through difficult times. Therefore, a plan for creating sports infrastructure, including the opening of new ice arenas and specialized schools for hockey in Ukraine, has been developed and is currently being implemented.
The modern Ukrainian ambition is to develop Ukrainian hockey to the world level. New ice arenas are opening all over the country. Thus, the Ice Point arena with an area of over 2,700 m² opens in Zaporizhzhia.
Within the walls of the university, with the participation of the director of the Department of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration Nataliia Vlasova, the head of the separate unit of the Hockey Federation of Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region Oleh Yudin, and the head of the Department of Physical Culture, Olympic and Non-Olympic Sports Svitlana Atamanyuk, they discussed the prospects and prerequisites for the development of student sports, including hockey. The focus was on the challenges of martial law and the post-war restoration of Ukraine’s sports potential.
The distinguished guests also visited the university museum, where they got acquainted with the history of our achievements, including sports ones.
We believe that this meeting will become a solid foundation for the further development of hockey in Zaporizhzhia!
