Representatives of the Department of Psychology at a training seminar in Kyiv as part of the PROJECT of psychological assistance to children «Art Helps»
The Department of Psychology of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University has actively started the new year 2024. Associate Professor Tetyana Borodulkina and first-year master’s students Kateryna Filonenko and Sofiia Cherednychenko (group CH-113m) took part in a training seminar on art therapy work with children who have suffered from military actions. The seminar was held on January 6-7 in Kyiv as part of the project of psychological assistance to children «Art Helps», which is implemented by the Children’s Friends Foundation with sponsorship funding from the UCARE, Inc. Charity Organization.
The seminar was attended by the president of the foundation, Maryna Krysa, project coordinator Dmytro Samarsky, psychologists from Poltava, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and fellows of the foundation involved in conducting art therapy classes with children.
The training was conducted by Tetyana Borodulkina, associate professor of the Department of Psychology of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University. The aim of the seminar was to assess the first stage of the project implementation and to teach new art therapy techniques and approaches.
During the two days of the seminar, the participants discussed and improved the program of classes developed at the first stage of the project implementation, met with Vira Petrusha, a representative of the UCARE charity organization (USA), which is the project sponsor, and participated in master classes. All participants received certificates of participation.
During the seminar, the Zaporizhzhia team signed a cooperation agreement with the president of the Children’s Friends Foundation, Maryna Krysa.
Within the framework of the cooperation agreement, there is already an agreement with the head of dormitory No. 3, Nataliia Bozhko, to conduct art therapy classes for IDP children staying in the dormitory. The psychologists of the Art Therapy Project «Art Helps» in our city will be master’s students of the Department of Psychology, Kateryna Filonenko and Sofiia Cherednychenko.
